Black hands - podcast

Postby dave-brown » Mon Aug 28, 2017 10:27 pm

Anyone listened to it... ?
I'm half way through the ten part series at the moment. The bain case was something i didnt really pay attention to in my youth. I was too young to take notice when the murders took place, and subsequently was only mildly interested when he was found innocent all those years later.
Im finding the podcast pretty fascinating, keen to explore the Bain case further if anyone has any suggestions for other material, reading, podcasts whatever.

I'm a bit conflicted as I think as a Missing Teeth fan I'm supposed to believe in his innocence?

Cranked through it in a couple days cause I was doing a lot of driving. Pretty well done but no a particularly 'objective' presentation of evidence. Probably because the cunt definitely fuckin did it

seamus once got up on stage and said they didnt really think bain was innocent, just wanted people to take another look at the case, which was just cos someone pointed out that yeh, he probably fuckin did it.

i mean, the police falsified evidence to get a conviction, that why bain is free now, not so much cos people think he didnt do it, i dunno

Okay so this is a different podcast... but couldnt be arsed starting a new thread...
RNZ, Black Sheep. About historical figures from nz history of questionable character.... from xenophobic politicians in the Nz wars... to 17yr olds attempting regecide. Its definately pretty interesting, even a piece on a Nz POW who volunteers for the British frei corps (a branch of the S.S for allied deserters/fascist sympathisers

There's some interesting stories in there eh.

I've been listening to the Gone Fishing podcast, about seedy goings on in West Auckland in the early 90's

Some of it feels pretty close to home.
