Re: Tool time...
I'm actually a bit agoraphobic these days. Also extremely antisocial.

The mass is what's important. Real anvils are only hardened on top too.

Got myself some gear spanners for work. A steal at $40. 3D printed a sweet holder for them as well.

Re: Tool time...
Pro tools versus handyman/ d.i.y tools.
These fluctuate in quality horendously, with some brands catering for both parties, e.g Bosch. Their d.i.y range is predominantly green coloured while their pro range is blue and of a much sturdier make. Also much more expensive. Although I recently bought a bosch green (cheaper )Jigsaw, clearly a lower grade due to various components being made entirely of plastic where their higher range consist of metals. But it goes hard and ive used it at work a bit.
One pro range tool which ive recently been disapointed with is Irwin. Ive bought their chisels in the past and theyve been ace. But i got a set last month and the steel heads have come loose after minimal use. Suggesting the shaft is seperate and therefor theyre pretty flimsy. Also i got a chalk line of theirs that shat itself after a month. Plastic cogs snapped off inside. Pretty disapointed. Luckily i got them all from bunnings of which i pinch allot of shit from so im kinda breaking even in a monetary sense. The old steel Stanley chalklines are the goer i reckon, not geared, so you gotta work the little buggers but they seem.more reliable. Such a simple yet genius tool!
Also....
Has anyone bought non paslode battery powered nailguns ?
Im using my workmates Hilti at the moment, and ive noticed De walts having a crack. HILTI seems far less tempramentle, costs more but never skips a beat. Im sorta of snooping about various brands as the classic Paslode has an alarmingly short life span and are made in such a way that self maintenance is difficult, providing their own servicing programme which costs obviously.

Well damn I'd quite like to see that.
Re: Tool time...
I've got this fucking cool ratchet spanner, ring end is an ordinary ratchet but the open end is the tech part, there's a little spring loaded cam in one jaw that lets you turn the spanner back without lifting it off.

Yeah bro! That's the shit I'm going on about. It's off the handle. Only good when the bolt/nut head is accessible but still, real useful

Re: Tool time...
leatherman wave is only about $100 if you not dumb enough to buy it at retail, but there was for a while a real good similar multitool for $15 at the ware whare
