It's alright. The ideal ultracompact camera for gigs: Canon PowerShot G9X. I take up to a dozen or so photos of each band and usually at least one turns out great! I only bring it to a handful of shows and prefer using it on friends' bands.

Don't think I've really been to anything since seeing The Dead C in Dunedin last year, fuck, that was over a year ago. Holy shit it was good though.

Few good things on the horizon over the next while. Might be less of a hermit (probably not).
I think it's lint.

Yeah, will try get to both. Shitty timing as I'm trying to finish off thesis writing.

Sounds a bit lame, but the beastwars show will be a bit sentimental.

Spacebats, attack are also playing sometime in the near future, for what seems like probably the last time for a while.

Oh ORT too. In fact, I think the actual last gig I made it to was them playing at the Crown sometime last year.

Yep, and it should have been finished "last week". Haha, managing it with the mortgage, my better half is very tolerant/patient!

I went to this new bar called Cafe Gummo in thornbury, Melbourne. Its run by Germans and has St Pauli stuff on the wall. I was pretty excited to check it out. But its basically a weird shop front with someones backyard attached. Anyway some bands played there. Some really terrible ones. There was a band called Urban Immigrants. The singer was about 18 and doesnt know how to be a punk yet. He used gel in his hair, had an expensive embroided social distortion vest and an unequivicolly clean Out come the wolves shirt. He topped it all off with leather studded gloves that he kept nervously fiddling with. Never use gel, amateur maneuver. Anyway it looks like he had his high school teacher on bass, his dads friend on guitar and his aunty on rhythm. It was quite dismal. Someone who says "this song is about.. " between every single song is begging to be heckled.

Wow I'm a grumpy elitist punk aren't I? Haha totally
. The show was quickly redeemed by my favourite melbourne sloppy three chord punk band "wild spears" they're legit.
The put posters around Melbourne with their logo and band name....And no further information. This I like. .
Anyway the show came to an abrupt end when skinheads started punching eachother.
My highlight was the Mexicanas. Legit

EXEK (from Melbourne) last Friday. I like their 2018 album Ahead of Two Thoughts, but the shoe was average I gotta say. 5/10.

Saturday with Herr Dubbi... Lombego Surfers. Hadn't heard of them before... Pretty fun garage/surf punk rockn roll. 7/10.

Very much looking forward to attending my third Bad Breeding shoe this Thursdee.
