Lords of Chaos

Postby ted the bastard » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:29 pm

I'm reading this at the moment. Just wondering who else has read it here.

It's been a real LOL book so far. Basically it tells the story of the bloody rise of Norwegian Black Metal scene & the Satanic Metal Underground in the early nineties to infamy through church burnings & murders. Containing interviews from members of Venom, Bathory, Mayhem, Emperor, Burzum etc....

I really enjoyed the bit about Dead.

"Honestly I don't think he was enjoying living in his world, which of course resulted in his suicide"

Euronymous & Varg's tyrades have been pretty entertaining as well.heh. They even interwiew Kerry Bolton (ex-NF) in it.

Only half way through it but so far I have to give a

10/10

I picked it up in Tampa of all places. Thought it was pretty cool in a rock history sense, but I lost interest in the fourth quarter when it got onto all the pagan mumbo-jumbo nonsense. The surviving members of Mayhem were fantastic in 'Metal: A Headbangers Journey' - still burning the candle for black metal and all.

Damn good read though I agree.

Found it kinda depressing really that a bunch of sad little teenage boys could be so influential.
But still it was funny as fuck. The book gets worse though once it starts to cover crap like thee electric hellfire club.
The copy I got out from the library had authentic spooky satanic blood ritual stains, or possibly some nerd got a bleeding nose.
