I just noticed your little theme of crazy buildings and was surprised that MP wasn't in there... in addition to the fact that its on top of a fucking mountain the big stone blocks fit together so closely you can't fit a knife between them - without mortar.

The Tiger's Nest monastery, or Taktshang, in Bhutan, clings to a cliff 2300 feet above the Paro valley floor. The legend behind the name is that Padmasambhava flew to the site of the monastery on the back of a tiger. However, the rest of us must either hike or ride a mule along steep and narrow paths to reach the monastery and temples.

well it was three monastaries, i left out heaps of other awesome monastaries too, its hardly surprising i left out something thats completely different.
