The Stranglers - Feb 2018

Auckland Town Hall - Fri 2nd Feb
Wellington Opera House - Sat 3rd Feb

Missed them last time since it sold out before I'd decided if I wanted to go. The mistake shan't be repeated. Tickets on sale nearly 10 months in advance though, why is that a thing? :explainittomelikeimfive:

TBH it hasn't been the original lineup since forever. Saw them in AK 2011/2012(?) in Auckland with Blondie and they were fucking great. I heard only good things about their Auckland show in 2016 too. Could be keen on this.

From what little I've heard, their newer stuff is different but quite good. So they're not just riding on the coattails of the old stuff.

Me, skinhead joe and julia went in 2012 i think it was, out west a.k with Blondie headlining.
I more went to propose to Deborah harry, which i did successfully . She never replied , ....she never said no though!.
Stranglers only had one o.g member but they were actually very enjoyable. I remember being pleasently surprised .
I remember stealing allot of food from the warming draws, skinhed joe walked around with a piece of fish in his front pocket of his jacketfor a period of the evening. That was mildlyamusing, as it protruded through and looked fairly odd. Does that help?

They were fucking awesome. Felt like they would blow just about any band, young or 'legendary', in the wider genre of punk out of the water in terms of delivering a solid live performance. Powerstation was the ideal venue too, sounded fucking great.

They actually had 2/4 original members. Dave Greenfield and JJ Burnel were going hard. I remember Joe meeting my parents haha. Good times.
