Preacher

Postby PertHJ » Thu Sep 29, 2016 3:59 am

Saw a bunch of stuff on FB prior to the season being aired but didn't see much talk after....

Just finished watching it now and am not too surprised with the lukewarm response, thought it was pretty dull. Reminded me a lot of the walking dead with shit pacing and great graphic novel characters becoming boring as fuck.

Some of the story line changes were a bit lame too

Can't imagine this comic successfully being adapted.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I'm enjoying it so far. I never finished the comics but read a few of them.

last ep i saw was when preacher decided he would try and dig arseface back from hell, that was at the end, so i dunno how that turned out.

prime example of what pert mentioned about a great character being a bit shit, but im sure when he comes back from hell he will be a bit more of a force.

also, from what i understand, ennis has recreated the series several times already, so its not really a valid crticism that its not the same as the one you know.

I just thought the comic was so ridic it would translate badly into a series. More of a Hellraiser fan anyway, and I was actually more into the film of that than the series, even though the latter was more faithful.
