Thats why you'll find the list is not geographic in any way. It's actually just full of awesome bands that we are lucky enough to be able to see fairly regularly.

Unfortunately Punkas as a whole doesn't actually know that much about good music, as can be seen from some of the winners of the best NZ band category in the awards.. nuff said.

Phil, you must be thinking of the wrong Seven Tongues. The one I was referencing were a Christchurch based softish metal outfit formerly known as Tempest, known for the horrid single Don't Call Me Dirt Bag. They were also known for a turgid power ballad aired on mid '90s local music channel Cry TV that I can't remember the name of, which featured a heroic widdly diddly guitar solo filmed somewhere around the cliffs by Taylor's Mistake.

they'd be fun to look through for sure. used to go see pumpkinhead heaps, they did a coke ad years ago, pretty for them, singer with his crass tattoo and and all ha, now sings in the valves. and tempest nearly every weekend when i was about 16 at the arena when i had long hair with an undercut and used to headbang, pretty for me...
