Wine

Postby YouAgain » Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:42 pm

Are there any brands of wine that a vegan can consume from the supermarket?
I feel like a glass every now and again but they all contain traces of milk egg or fish...

The shit thing is NZ winemakers dont have to state on their bottles whether or not they clarify with egg, fish, dairy or gelatine. Australian makers used to be obliged to but apparantly they only have to state if there is dairy or egg products now and not gelatine or isinglass which sucks.

Try this link for a comprehensive list of ALL alcoholic beverages in Australia that are vege or vegan, most of which you can get here as well: http://www.vnv.org.au/site/index.php?op ... Itemid=133

Try this site: http://vegans.frommars.org/wine/ it's Uk i think but still has a good selection of wines.

If your local supermarket doesn't stock any insist they order some in and then make sure you buy them!!

My vegan lifestyle has inflated my sense of self satisfaction to the point that i have no issues with drinking $500 bottles of wine every Tuesday and Thursday.

Oxford Landing has red and white wine that are vegan... can't remember which ones, you'll have to check the label as it states on the back that it's vegan friendly. They are about $15 a bottle from Pak 'n' Save.
