Driving back to Dunedin from Te Anau today, coffee and hopefully a quesadilla from the market on the way out of town.
Happy Labour day all

Just discovered a vegetarian vietnamese restaraunt 300m from my new house. $13 for a dumpling noodle soup. A dish which contests curry laksa for my all time favourite meal. The only down side is due to the buddhist aspect, theres no booze... and the dumpling house next door has free byo so the choice is hard.... good god i love Footscray.

Just found a cafe in the mall in Dunedin which is all vegan and has a lot of glutard choices too. It doesn't advertise it anywhere until you look at the menu. They do an amazing laksa as well as really good coffee.

UFO and Audio Foundation in Auckland. Image For a while at UFO's old address there was an illegal bar with a pool table and everything, but I assume it's gone since they moved.

Me neither tbh. The last time I went to a gig there before they moved I just BYO'd a couple of beers as usual (driving) and there it was.

Made some quinoa and carrot burgers on the weekend, topped off with homemade pickled onions and tzatziki. Booya. Was banging. Usually make patties from lentils, creamed corn and brown rice but i was feeling fruity.
(To be honest my missus showed me how to make them, ive never cooked with quinoa before) . Peanut butter was the main component for binding those bitches together.

Curried scrambled tofu with avocado and homegrown weeds. If I just had some artisan bread I could pretend I was running a cafe.

Made some mean pierogi for the first time recently. Filled with potato, spinach, spring onion and sheep's cheese. Topped with caramalised onions. Bloody excellent.

Monkfish with lemon and a dash of cider vinegar. Probably full of mercury and radiation.

I miss it. I'm a glutard these days. Also am not meant to eat any of the nightshade family, which cramps my style. I can live without potatoes and tomatoes, but chilli!?

Tonight was a homemade glutard pizza with veges, cheese and coconut bacon stuff that I am testing. It wasn't bacon, but it was good sprinkled on my pizza.

Im not fully sold on the coconut bacon. But sometimes when its a minor ingredient it can work. Sounds yum. Theres a Buddhist vege supermarket near my house. I get large bags of bacon rashes from there. Aparantly the owners are involved im some buddhist offshoot cult and consequently some punks boycott it. I dont really care who they worship or what they do as long as they keep selling me tempeh chicken schnitties

^ Nice! Chinese dumplings? Not so easy to find good ones here. There's a couple of alright joints, but not as cheap (or as good) compared to Aus. or NZ. Had some mean ones in Hamburg though actually.

I'm about to whip up a big old bowl of guacamole. Local store had avos for 99c today... fuck yeah.

I just chewed my nails and one of them tore really badly so I ended up ingesting several layers of my own skin and a wee bit of blood and whatever my fingers have been touching recently which doesn’t really bear thinking about.

Part of your complete breakfast.
