Mate was telling me over the weekend about a custom Maccas burger called "The cloud".

Cheeseburger with mayo on a steamed (fillet-o-fish) bun. Must try.

Had a fillet o fish with extra sauce, verdict = nah. Small bugger with gooey buns. :baton: McD's is too much about the brand rather than the food.

Admittedly the best thing about FoF is those amazing sugar coated steamed buns. Same with the McChicken. Keen to try this cloud burger. I'd even eat the buns alone.

Been too long since I had NZ BK so not really a fair review, from memory the flame grilled taste is heaps stronger in NZ, someone told me HJ's is microwaved, doesn't sound right. All in all pretty much the same except beef patties have more sawdust in 'em here.

I've been through the Sealords factory in Nelson where all the Fillet-o-Fish fish is processed.

Pretty much there is a conveyor that the hoki runs along where the fish are filleted by hand.

All the offcuts from the fillets go into a large mesh tumbler which separates the meat out from any bones/scales etc and it ends up in a big bin of fish mush. From there it is bleached and reconstituted into the fish patties.

Yeah I laugh when people try and tell me there's cow anus's and stuff in sausages. Always thought not wasting resources was a good thing.

I would imagine with the amount they sell all the big four make them. According to Wikipedia due to shortages in hoki over the last few years they have gone back to using pollock from overseas at certain times. They even used red cod for a while, which is far worse than any cow anus

Blue cod is awesome, red cod is terrible. About the only fish I don't like.

Bought a whole Kingfish for $50 last week from a Coastguard fundraiser. Made about 20 meals not including boiling up the head.
