Bought tapes til I was about 14. I think the last tape I bought was Antichrist Superstar... No wait, the last tape I bought was Crawler, which I regret. (I was drunk at the time etc.)

First CDs I bought:

The Clash - the Clash & The Clash give em enough rope - double tape. Shortly after that it was Stiff Little Fingers - Nobodys Heroes. It was at about this point in time that I decided that punk music would be the soundtrack to my life. Have never looked back since, might have a few regrets but it's better to regret the things you have done than to regret the things you haven't done.

Well son, the funny thing about regret is...

Enjoying the mid/late 90's vibes. I had most of the more hilarious offerings on tape. Remember there being some epic backstreet boys vs spice girls vs hanson arguments at primary school. The Now tape with blur and shit that was posted before was fucking rad, that woulda been one of the first I bought myself I think along with some michael jackson shit. Pretty sure americana was the first CD, but it could also have been supersystem

Did anyone else rock books on tape as a kid? Used to go to sleep to Bobby Brewster (sweet talking pebbles, soap and cheese and magic shoes) and Biggles way back when. Fuck biggles was the man.
I think it's lint.

Dude I was quoting the Butthole Surfers. In the song the father is talking in a very solemn tone to his young son and then the next part goes... "and by the way if you see your mum this weekend be sure to tell her - SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!!!!!!"

Red Switch got it.

Coming from a big family, us three younger kids all had to share albums.

My particular favourites were: The Empire Strikes Back storybook LP, Michael Jackson's Bad LP and the U Can't Touch This cassingle.

The first two albums I could actually call my own were:

That was in '94 for my 9th birthday.

Me too. Or possibly the Lion King soundtrack.

Best bit about my Spice Girls tape was that my brothers recorded a bunch of stuff on the end for me, including Marilyn Manson and SOAD.

First I bought was this. Tempted to download it now for nostalgia's sake.

Ah, shit reminds me of tortuous family holiday car trips when it was my sisters turn to choose the music. Getting a discman was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
