Places to Play in Wanganui??

Postby Mr Pink » Mon Mar 07, 2011 2:54 pm

Hey was wondering if anyone knew of any decent pubs/house venues etc to play in Wanganui - looking
at booking a tour at the moment and thought it may be worth a shot.

we played at the yacht club/sailing club (something to do with boats club) recently, more of a party venue than an actual bar, quite out of the way, but by the sounds of it not many bars in town have live bands.
also heard of a place called the pavillion in castlecliff where they sometimes put on shows

those bands are playing there, im sure someone on there will be able to help you.

and

theres some indie as fuck place called 'the eye of the night'
im not sure if it's still running. i can ask around if you want though.

also

Amdram Theatre on 175 Guyton St will have shows.

ps, wouldn't recommend playing in wanganui.

its next to the surfclub, the surfclub is signposted, 'the pavillion' is not, so if you actually want anyone to find it you call it the surfclub.

dont ever challenge me, as i know everything.

Eye of Night is no more.
Apparently the ARC theatre has been the recipient of most of Al's gear .

We played at The ARC a while back and had a beaut time, very warm and supportive organiser.
