i had a freshly shaved head and was always in fights, was just before i discovered crass and communism, i listened to nofx, the exploited and the misfits, rage and cypress hill, deep purple and pink floyd, smoked a fuck heap of weed and hardly ever drank a drop of alcohol.

funny how things turn out, its also funny how many stages i crammed into those years.

I highly doubt it. Whats there to regret?
A camera crew observed them having a pretty normal thursday night, give a fuck.
Ive seen much worse behaviour out of the same girls, theyre 16 and 17 year olds being exactly that.
Lets not be hypocritical old folk aye.

Nah, I fully reserve my right to be a grumpy old baggage. What's the use being old if ya can't go on about *kids these days, tch*. Anyway, you know them, I don't, this is just the impression I (and most of the country, no doubt) get. Of course you want to defend your friends and they might be lovely gels, help old ladies cross the street and volunteer at the animal shelter every weekend. I personally found them annoying, but what the fuck has my opinion got to do with anything? Fuck all, that's what. And give a fuck, I couldn't care less what a bunch of irritating children get up to, but if yer gonna put yourself out there, on television no less, yer opening yourself up to criticism, no? And it weren't just the girls, the boys were horrible too, but I have friends and relatives of the same age (and like I say, pupils who are coming up on their teens, and a daughter who isn't all that far behind) and if I caught *them* acting like that I'd... Well, I'd tut-tut up my sleeve and fuck the hell off.

But... Are you saying that's average behaviour from 16-17 year old girls? Or just 'punk' girls (whatever *that* means in this day and age)?

Memoreeee-ah: In the Esplanade, in Palmy, beautiful, hot summer evening, sharing a walkman containing the cassingle of ...Teen Spirit between four people. We took turns lol. Six weeks at number one in the charts, pretty awesome.

I have a tube of Teen Spirit deodorant in my bathroom, my friend who lives stateside procured it for me. This one:

nirvana were pre-punk to my life too, they went along with metalica, bush, live and rage, i still like all those bands in a 'when im listening to hauraki' kind of way, good music, not like the stuff you get these days.
is there anything in the mainstream today thats not total rubbish?
are the kids getting dumber or am i just getting old?

i also used to like collective soul, but theres no excuse for that, except maybe all the weed i was smoking.

Was contemplating this the other day: The music I came up on is now 'classic rock'. Way to make me feel ancient.

And personally, I think there's just too much music these days... Back then, you had to actively seek of different shit, these days, it's at the touch of a keypad away. Not saying that's neccessarily a bad thing, it just means more shite slips thru the cracks. Kinda feel sorry for kids these days, even bands that make it huge don't last. Fade into obscurity after a couple records. But at the same time, it's fucking brilliant to be able to hear obscure little bands from across the oceans that you never would have come across pre-internets. I mean, there were always bands slaving away at their art, just the accessibility has increased, a million-fold. So yeh, good, and bad.
