Say you're a scientist, followed by FOOLS, I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL. That's next level shit.

Technically I'm not a scientist, these days.
Trivial irritation: It is a cold winter night and I have no warm person in bed with me so that I can warm my cold feet on their bum.

On an otherwise good day, the magic smoke just came out of my food processor (while making carrot and cumin soup) and now it doesn't work and I can make hummus, soups and smoothies.

Trivial irritation of the day: My embarrassing zucchini failure this season, followed by going to the supermarket and they are $13.99 a kg, at a time when I should have a glut of them! And avocados- $5 each!!

When you leave your coffee for a bit and gets slightly cold so you give it a 15 second blast in the microwave... and then the microwave starts the cooling process which lasts over a minute, by the end of which your coffee is the same temperature it was when you put it in.

6am, and I just fell down my stairs. Not a good way to start the day. I fear I have done myself damage.

Nasty. I missed the last Orbiter after band practice last week and ended up hiking to the other side of town and put my hip out. Was hobbling around for days.

Yep. My leg has always been a bit fucked and it started doing fucky things about ten years ago now. These days if I do a mission like that I’m limping for the next two or three days.

Acrobat silently updating so I find I need to reboot before I can open any PDFs, when I'm in the middle of listening to a 1hr music track.
The amount of visible JPEG compression artifacts still knocking around in 2018. Fuck your mobile data. Also, people posting about events etc. with less than 24 hours notice. Even if I check your shitstream daily I'll probably still see the post after the fact.

The second half of May, all of June, July and August. Driving to work in the dark, driving home in the dark, grey cold and rainy, and even if the weather isn't shit your washing doesn't get dry during the day. And avocados are currently over six fucking dollars each.

Re: The Trivial Irritations Thread
I like how we have 3 threads for grumpiness of varying degrees now.
Anyway, websites that save your credit card details without an option to opt out while purchasing, so you then have to make several clicks to remove it again. Eg. Google and 7digital. More irresponsible with Google as that generally stays logged in. I dunno how often they ask for your password in that situation but I don't use a password manager and my passwords aren't generally that long so I'll shake my fist at that cloud.

Already have enough single points of failure tbh, eg. most accounts linked to the same email address. I have a password system. It's in me brain and if that fails then I'm not gonna be needing my passwords too much.

Re: The Trivial Irritations Thread
I have been at home sick all this week with a chest infection. Previously I have tried to work through and ended up with bronchitis. Hoping that taking sick leave, eating jelly and watching Netflix will prevent that.
Meantime I am bored and exhausted and my social life is suffering. Also the downside of being solo is having no one to bring hotdrinks when you're sick.

New Killjoys will be out tomorrow. Netflix are slack at getting it. I think they’ve only got the first three series still. Get yourself a torrent client.

Over a month later: post viral bronchial spasm (like asthma but with coughing til you throw up) and oh hai, fucking hayfever season! This plant scientist needs to go somewhere with no pollen.

Not being able to move back to Auckland until early next year. Apartment building repairs were supposed to take about 5 months for any given floor but at this stage it's looking more like 8 or 9 months for me due to delays and extra issues found. Not surprising I guess.

Oh, this... fuck knows when it's gonna be now. There were already more delays pre-'rona. Hoping an alternative solution works out so I can spend more time in Dorkville in the meantime.

Not being able to move to Auckland should be posted under a non existant "Things that are awesome" thread.
