I'm thinking of quoting rambling passages from the Book of Revelations and the Bhagavad Gita as to what will happen if I don't get the job.

Windows 8.

I brought a computer because I wanted a fucking computer. If I wanted an iPhone I would have got one of them instead. (Having replaced my cellphone with a wristwatch recently it is safe to say that I didn't)

Seriously? In the last 10 years all you dicks have managed to do is to make things uglier, more complicated and harder to use? I'm seriously considering grabbing some XP discs and running that.

That's what I thought too.....
Find the "desktop" icon in amongst all the apps..... and it's considerably better/same same as windows 7.

this is how i feel about learning to use photoshop/indesign/illustrator all at once, the last graphics program used apart from paint was atari artist circa 1985, and it was a lot easier.

so often i just feel like opening mspaint, its so damn complicated to perform simple tasks

I fairly quickly downloaded a programme (not a fucking App) which essentially turns everything back into Windows 7. Apparently - I never used that, either. But at least it has a start button and a normal desktop now.

Also: back to my previous complaining - upon set up I was quite pleased to be given the option of "English (New Zealand)". Unfortunately the only real difference between that and the default is the name of the option - still fucking excess Zeds everywhere. "English (UK)" is the same. Are they taking the piss?

That's why I still use PhotoImpact (and AnimationShop for gifs), long after they were bought out by Corel and discontinued. Simple tasks were actually simple once.

pixlr is an online photoshop that can be pretty simple as well as producing pretty excellent results.

Interacting with self-identifying socialists who are all too happy to discuss their political beliefs without anyone asking them to, but somehow fail to realize that they're just advocating another form of capitalism; all the while wondering whether to nod my head and smile until someone interjects with something else to talk about, whether to 'become that guy' and explain that they have no clue what they're talking about, or flit off to another group nearby at the risk of entering a vapid conversation about paisley fabric or something.

Naw, your words engage my humour mechanism too! And... I had a temporal fuck out, I missed a whole phase of the moon, not doing drugs is a helluva drug (or something!)

I just thought paisley was all Prince and 70s swingers. I now know it has an immense cultural history, in some places I really like. Learning is fun!

I'm sure it's come up before, but holy shit I am sick of friends who have gone all fundamental on it and insist on telling me that, due to their recent moral choices, I am a bad person. Guilt, blackmail and fear mongering (and such bad science!) do not change people's values- the threat of hell didn't make me believe in God. And it's not self affirmation when it puts others down, it's self justification. And it's all over my wall.
And fundamentalist athiests, you're as bad.

no fundamentalist atheists are not just as bad cos that is an oxymoron and they do not exist

I disagree. Just because someone doesn't believe in a higher being doesn't mean they are rational thinking people. As athiests by definition are not open to discussion or consideration of other points of view (or they'd be agnostics) to my mind they are fundamentalist.
This stated as a non religious person.

Atheism is the disbelief in the existence of any deities by definition.
Jainism and Buddhisms are religions but advocate atheism.
Agnosticism in this sense is that humans do not possess the ability or the knowledge to conclusively prove or disprove the existence of deities.
Fundamentalists are by definition not open to discussion or consideration of other POVs.

As an atheist I usually mind my own business unless someone brings it up. I don't go on about flying spaghetti monsters or sky daddies cause that's douchebag behaviour, but if someone wants to pick a fight I'll defend my position.

"Militant atheism" or "fundamentalist atheism" is a contradiction to me. As Ricky Gervais put it, calling atheism a belief is like calling not skiing a hobby.

All I know is that it is a position some people identify themselves as having, and a few seem to act as zealots in that position.
