a lot of plot changes, missing characters, nowhere near as funny, and mr gryle is hugely shit.
but its still ok, is barely a shadow of the book, but its not harry potter after all.
no idea how a ginger pulls off vetinari, but hes excellent, was disappointed to see a regular chessboard in place of a thud board tho, its a real game...
i guess im a pretty massive geek cos theres a lot of detail i could complain about, hokey as fuck costumes for a start, but at least it didnt get the hollywood treatment.
overall i give it a thumbs up
Yeah, gota suspend a bit of belief, lol, ginger Vetinari, yeah, not too much of a stretch to Tywin Lannister, love me some Charles Dance. And detail, yeah, but it's tv, you can't get it all in there. I thought the casting was good, I *really* wanted to see them two have a pash by the end. Gona have to steal it up for a rewatch.

I kinda hated The Colour of Magic because a fucking American hobbit as Twoflower highly offends me, but I think they did a good job overall and it was nice that David Jason was keen and is a massive fan. Hogfather sort of worked, though Teatime was infuriating. Going Postal is the best of them all - reckon they actually got it together at last and there's a good chance the next one will maintain that level of decency. I'd really like them to try something with the Lancre witches.
But lets be honest here, the best part of Pratchett's books is actually reading them and imagining the characters yourself. Seeing them on screen and having film makers attempt to interpret the jokes and plots is never going to work as well as that mans ability to bash out scenarios with words.
DIANA RIGG FOR GRANNY WEATHERWAX

I like them adaptations, but it's a whole nother level of suspension of belief, eh. I'm fucking *attached* to those characters, I *know* these characters intimately, they're never gona get them perfect. Like, ha, Phil, the Angua girl on that show? FUCKING SERGEANT ANGUA!!! That's not what she looks like
