Sexpest at The Gasometer

Postby Nathanael » Tue Aug 06, 2013 1:58 pm

Good turn out for this one, quite a lot of people from the downstairs show making their way up to check it out.

Ratsak were ok. I fucking love Grovers voice but musically I found it a bit lacking. The band were never able to match the intensity of the singer.

Gentlemen played a great set (one of the best in a while according to one of the guitarists) The new drummer makes a huge difference to the sound, everything seems more cohesive. Zac is always going on about how much he loves NZ and wants to get out there. Eh Grant? Go on, do it.

Bloody Hammer were... I dunno. The band were way too loud and Yeap had a cold or something so you could barely hear him. I had all the guitars out of the PA and his mic turned up as much as it would go and you still couldn't hear shit.

Sexpest were great. First time seeing them live for me. Crowd seemed to really like it as well. I have always liked Grants song writing and really enjoyed hearing a different direction for him. I wished for more Freudoids weirdness but in all honesty it works staying stripped back. Sams shirt and glasses combo was dope. The heckling was on good form "Whats up Sydney"

After party was good times. Got punished by Joe and his american mate till 6am but apart from a good night all round.

Thanks to all who came. It was great to catch up with ya's.
Gentlemen were the highlight. Heaps good as.
One day I'll go back to Freudoids weirdness (Although, I never though of that band as being weird as such more atmospheric)

And plain stupid.

Yeah, mean as time. Gentlemen were fucking great. I recommend grabbing this download for 'name your price'.

Yeap lost his bulletbelt. I found it on top of the toilet cistern at the Bendigo, must've taken it off for a mad shit, I gave it to a chubby Scottish girl. Renee know who!

Glad I got that one off my chest

Lol. Do they send the cover and tracklist after you've downloaded it?

I had a shitload of fun. Probably the longest set we've ever played. Everything we know except for one original, a new one that's still a bit premature, and Flipper. Enjoyed all the bands, but I think none of them were as good as us so they can get fucked. After party was good times (even if I was the only one truly pumped on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICR9EE4JTYs). Cheers Sydney.

A Freudoids reuinion would be nice.
