Heard a whole bunch of ratty things about the woman who runs Medusa. At least I'm pretty sure it was Medusa, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Been to a couple of gigs when it changed to Hole In The Wall and a couple after it changed to Medusa, and enjoyed the bands. That's all I care about so it seemed like business as usual. Dunno what they're like to deal with now though.

Have the toilets improved? I have rarely seen such scuzzy bathrooms as the guy's ones at Valve. And I've been in awesome situations like having to clean out non-composting composting toilets in freezing gullies.

They're generally fine. I've found most of the "normal" and flasher places usually have terrible toilets, guess it ties into the personalities of most of the people who frequent them.

What were you doing in the mens toilet anyway?

eeerrrr, talking. As ya do...

Actually, there may have been people having sex in the women's loos (which were pretty fucking gross too) and I was probably dying for a wee. I would have had my shewee with me, so I could have stood up

I've just never had a problem at Medusa and putting gigs on there has always been a really smooth process...

Greg (Valve) was just so cool about everything that the punx loved the place and it was easy as to do a show there.

Hole in the Wall was stink as when I took The Varukers there in 2009, the people running it were scared the punx were gonna smash the place up so they put aggro bouncers on the door. Then they played Slipnot on the stereo all night even when I pointed out it was punk crowd and they should play the cd I provided.

Some of my Welly band friends said there was a bit of an anti punk vibe at Medusa for a while, but I'm not 100% sure what that was all about. The RUST show I did there in 2010 was fine and Andy has done some punk shows there recently, not too mention they're also putting on the Capitol Chaos gig on there too. Without Greg it's never going to be as good as Valve, but I'd consider putting on a show there again if I had something suitable.

Think a lot of that stems from self-entitled cunts thinking they can do whatever they want and getting kicked out for being fuckwits. Most of the time it seems that way anyway, I can't speak on behalf of anyone of course.

A lot of the "anti-punk" stuff more or less stemmed from female staff members getting assaulted by males at those gigs and it was blown out of proportion quite a lot.

That Rust show was a lot of fun. Second time I met my current girlfriend. Her mate fell over/got thrown on the dancefloor and broke her arm. On the way to the hospital chick with broken arm threw up all over my now girlfriend and the back seat and when the taxi pulled over they tried to do a runner but were too drunk/in pain to get very far. GC taxi driver got them back in the taxi and drove us to the hospital and all we had to pay was $20. Been together since that night :calav:

It's still a pub at the end of the day... I'm sure people would get kicked out for abusive behaviour towards staff, assault and vandalism in any other pub in town too.

Valve's long gone and local venues for Metal and such are running pretty scarce now...

yes, its still a pub, and i agree with you in regards to "people going there"

i thought oringial poster was looking at playing there.

for some reason i think i know them.

anyway...im not going to say much because everyone has different experiences ...

i just know those experiences are usually the same for alot of people :baton:

The old Harp bar on Princess highway. They used to do gigs there but it wasn't the best for live bands really, this looks way better.
