smakdown 2011

Postby cirE » Sat Mar 12, 2011 8:18 am

friday:

bands were all g, made an effort to watch at least 2 songs from every band this time, seen all these bands a million times but whatever

i like how (for my experience anyway) it was mostly random noob kids (literally) inside watching the bands (what's the term for them that someone mentioned to me?), with all the grownups that i know out at the carpark drinking/smoking/lining

not a lot of drama! compared with past smakdowns anyway. real laxed vibes. everyone just mellowed out having a good time. fuck all dancing for smakdown though. all g i guess. little kids wanna watch the bands.

What a fucking killer weekend.
Bands were fucking brilliant. As far as entire shows go, one of my favorite ever, there was just a general good feeling the whole time.
No idea what Dave was talking about between The Break In's songs, really cool set probably going to be my favorite band in the country after Cry Wolf pack up.
Moment of Truth put on a killer show, Rex's rants were cool too.
Antagonist headlined for a reason, fucking mean as.
Relentless' recordings get a bit boring but holy shit their live show went off. I think if more people knew their songs it would have been even better than that.
Burial. Wild. Mean.
Its going to be sad to see the end of Cry Wolf. Outstanding set, really long compared to more recent shows, an encore even! Luky for Mr. Shields that the police let him out.
This weekend was better that the past Smakdowns for me because it was a whole weekend of shit rather than waking up and having to kill time in Hamilton. I scored some cool stuff from the boys at the record swap, defiantly wish I took more records with me though. Enjoyed rewatching the NYHC doco. Please do the same shit next year and lets get more people trading up. The $4 vegan lunch was much appreciated!
Thanks for getting shit done another year.

Shotgun, if no one else beat me to it.

Shit was alright, kinda stink how all the bands I wanted to see were on Saturday. Even stinker how I couldn't go on Saturday.
MoT were gr9 though, Oilbarrons were cool too. Antagonist was weird, hadn't seen them for well over a year, maybe 2 even.

Anyone involved in organising it - you cool.

someone must have got hurt in the pit at least, its the biggest hardcore event of the year, so far it sounds like cup of tea and biscuits with nana.
was anyone wearing an 'all youre worth' shirt?

Actually, as someone mentioned there wasn't really much of the beating of the invisible ninjas this year. or, it didnt seem that way. if there were dramas i guess all the 0X made people forget.

Frank kicked me in the nuts on purpose and I turned around and tried to fight the three people behind me, but they didn't want to fight. Bitch didn't tell me it was him untill way later, just stood there and let me be angry at these three kids.
If any of you three have punkas, I'm legitimately sorry for that.
There was one actual fight I think but I don't know who it was. I saw a rumble and tried to climb on top of it. I was real bummed out when it got broken up, I wanted to play king of the castle
