Haven't actually tried Moose or the IPA yet, but the other Boundary road beers I've tried seemed to be pretty shamelessly copying something else in order to grab the title of "craft" and a premium price tag to go along with it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but when I see a dozen of your bouncing czech pilsner on a shelf next door to the beer it's trying to copy, and it's over twice the price don't expect me to give your label the benefit of the doubt.

When I'm not being a whiney cunt, I was stoked when I liked fresh hopwired even more than the original.
I thought West Coast belgian stout was fantastic. Might've been more thin than your average stout, but throw those belgian esters into a bottle with some roasty character, and I'm always going to be a fan.
Tried a sour cherry imperial stout as well last weekend. Probably not that far from going on taps in a few different places. For fucks sake don't miss out, was my favourite new tipple of the last 6 months.

All that being said, I'm a terrible judge of beer when it it comes to objective standards. Just drink something I haven't, and fucking tell me something about it.

Trying Boundary Road Chocolate Moose now.

And I have to agree with nazi scum. Not up there with their IPA, but it's pretty good imho. Though the first one is the best, it's a bit sweet to be a sitter (unlike a really good chocolate stout I can chew all night).
EDIT: actually by the second one it's decidedly average.

PS - bonuscups, true, but I might explain Boundary Road is on special for $13 odd at my New World at the mo', which is pretty decent for the IPA.

IMO chocolate stouts are not to be consumed in 6-packs like all good beers, savour the singles!!

Tonight I have enjoyed, Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale. Rogue Chocolate Stout. Anderson Valley IIPA. Flying Dog Raging Bitch.

Bed awaits.

Quite a nice malt profile on the Anderson Valley, not as much as a 90 Minute but still way too easy to drink at 9%.

Guinness Foreign Extra. Ugh. Body is pretty much the same as the normal stuff, except with more alcohol. Extra hops have been added to cover this, but it doesn't work and they are just too bitter (with no flavour) completlely recking the balance. Utterly dreadful. Fuck you Countdown for suckering me into wasting $4.

Yeah, probably good advice there - but I have an unusually high point for the marginal diminishing returns of chocolate (the guy in the Welly chippie that started doing deep fried Mars Bars many years ago couldn't believe how many I could eat with a hint of queasiness  ) and could happily chew on Youngs (before it turned to shite) all night.

Anyway, trying Stoke IPA now, and well, it's sure not up to Stoke's usual standard.

It's a ok drop, but not a brilliant IPA. Nice bitterness and biscuity malt balance, but a bit watery and it's much less hoppy than I like my IPAs.

I might buy one in say a pub instead of a Sepights or whatever, but if I was wanting an IPA I'd have [edited for J] something that actually tasted like a half decent IPA instead.

Drank some Kozel last night, pretty awesome. Probably better than anything you guys have drunk all year.

Obviously they weren't good bastards after all.

Bit stink though. Still: some of these older micros need to catch up with what is happening in the scene. It is not just enough to be there anymore.

Stoke Bomber Smoky Ale.

Sort of like bacon and Speights - but in a good way. Slightly spicy, not as intense as other smokys.

Would trade again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way unless it was on special.

Olomouc Beer Fest on at the moment, probably head along some time after four. Biggest in the Czech Republic, so I guess that means it probably has some of the best beer in the world, all in one location, ready for me to get fucking maggoted on. Will let you all know how it goes ;)

Hey Aidan. Are you in the Czech Republic? How is that going? I bet you must have some cool stories that you can slip into any conversation and make it seem like you are actually interesting or something. Sweet bro. Peace.

Well this is about beer, so I kept it to talk about beer.

This morning I saw a girl with a dragon tattoo on her neck, but no other visible tattoos. I also saw an old man with a denim hat that said "fossil" with an american flag on it. A few weeks ago I saw a homeless guy yelling at girls as they got off the tram and humping the air in their general direction, I'm not sure what he was saying, it was in czech, and he was slurring pretty badly.

You are getting your stories mixed up. The girl with a dragon tattoo lives in Sweden and solves crimes and is generally all goth and shit. Do you expect us to believe this crap?

Beerfest ruled. Drank six different beers there I think, then went to a club with some friends afterwards. Then I don't remember anything and woke up with a massive scrape on my face, no hat, no hoodie and hungover as fuck. Currently pretending to do work so I don't have to use a holiday being hungover.

Fell asleep at 5am on Sunday morning waiting for a tram. Got woken up by a police officer, I immediately mumbled "Novy Zeland". He replied "I know, go home".

:baton: getting well known already, unsure whether this is a good or a bad thing yet
