Work. We do quite a lot of Rocland's wines and these beers are a tie in to a range of Reds they do for the American market. I expect they come from the same distributor. We've also got a double IPA and a Vanilla Pale Ale.


Quick review: Was pretty good after the first couple of gulps once I had adjusted to the smokey flavour. Nice and heavy, certainly didn't come across as an 8%er. (I hate when all you can taste is the raw alcohol)


edit: Or maybe that is the other way round. The Wine could be made under license for the brewery? The website - http://asskisserales.com/find.php - suggests that SANZ Global brings it in. And when I say Work I mean in town, not Hillcrest, if that makes a difference

Weihenstephaner Vitus. Worth a go? It seems like it has sublime reviews, but I really can't fucking stand banana-y wheat beer. If it is balanced and not overpowering though then maybe I could be persuaded to give it a go. Even if it isn't dark like the name suggests.


On a related note Brew in Rotorua had Moa Dunkelweiss on tap. So fucking good. No bananas. Yum.

Vitus is a good beer and I'm no German/Wheat fan guy, BUT the Korbinian is great!!!

I hear Wine company are putting in taps for craft beer, may be worth a look especially for the Emerson's brewers reserve and the Yeastie Boys stuff.

oh, lately it's been 8-wired Fresh Hopwired and Hopwired. Plus 90 min IPA, Torpedo, New Dogtown and Issacs Berry Cider.

I decided against it in the end, and brought home a Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout. It's been staring at me the last couple of times I've covered for Jan and I finally had to go for it. Absolutely perfect beer for this weather. Apparently it was 9%. I certainly didn't realise until after a glass. Prreeewwwooowww.
