Nothing worse than a bland sour. Valhalla took La Mure off tap because not enough people were buying it. "Too sour" apparently. At Punkfest he was selling 'snakebites' for cheap which was La Mure mixed with cider to tone the sour back a notch. Cracked me up.

I had a couple bottles of 8 Wired's Hippy Berliner. Strong citrus smell and flavour. After taste of pineapple maybe. Pretty zesty. I thought it could be more sour, but the sweet to sour ratio is good. Would buy again.

Drank two tall boys of Coopers green in the sun athe dog park after work today. I hate the dog park, the regulars have an odd social click i have no interest in. I want my dog to socialise, i dont feel the need to do so myself. So i drank beer with my house mate and talked about exchange rates. TRUE STORY. interesting? No. True, yes
Was the beer good? Oh my, very much so

Going to be in NZ in a few weeks for a wedding, planning a night or two in Wellys to hit Garage Project and wherever. Then over the water for a few weeks in Nelson for Marchfest and heaps of fresh-hopped beers. Super excited, the NZ beer scene is revered by the Melbourne one, it's all pretty cute. And much cheaper :)

So there's a bit of a brewhaha about coopers sponsoring the bible society and this video. Video is pretty meh, but not really into companies that have a mission statement like this:

I consume Coopers on a regular basis. I was unaware of their ties to christianity. Generally ones religion doesn't phase me much as long as they aren't forcing it dogmatically upon others. It would appear that maybe Coopers deem certain behaviour unethical. I would like to meerly point out, that i regularly indulge in unchristian behavior, and quite often in a drunken stupor caused by Coopers products themselves. OoOOOh the irony.

i love coopers stout, its a fucking fantastic beer, a good percentage, excellent flavour and body and cheap price.
the other coopers are good, but they have sediment in them, which means you have to decant into a glass, unless you are an insufferable fuckwit, and roll it on the bar or a table first, ...what the fuck dude.

oh yeh, not beer, but i bought a 4pack of macs mead the other day, it was as good as any homebrew mead, which is to say, not really very good.

most people seem to think mead is a spirit, cos a lot of beekeepers make honey spirits, but whatever.

anyway this macs stuff could do with some spices, its a bit plain.

You should have a blog doing beer reviews phil, that was a well rounded, straight to the point review. I could almost taste the mediocre mead myself

Having a Steamer Basin Wakame Pils.
Interesting flavours going on, it was good with the laksa I had for tea.
I got it from the Dunedin Farmers market - super small scale. Will drink again.

*edited cos I got the name wrong

Back on tap by the time I hit town, had it a few times. It's good, not even excessively sour. More drinkable than bloody Sprite anyway. Up there with the grapefruit cider at Whammy. Wonder if they still have that.

Found a licensed cafe down the road from my house yesterday that sold us $8 pints of Asahi and Cider at 9 in the morning, liquid breakfasts make for interesting days, and Footscrays a very interesting place to people watch, this cafes smack in the middle of all the action. Yeap, thats my story.

( after re reading that post, i can see why you thought that, I worded that in a pretty odd way which could be easily misinterpreted)
I have shat in the shower before. It is commonly referred to as waffle stomping. It isn't a good idea.
