Soundwave - Melbourne

Postby BigNanaJez » Sat Feb 28, 2009 1:04 pm

Fucking Awesome! BloodhoundGang, Face To Face, Horse The Band, Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Minus The Bear, Say Anything.. so fucking awesome. Except maybe Goldfinger, they took the gay "thank you so much" ilk of the other gaymo bands and didnt play enough old stuff - however the wall of death was wicked and the circle pit was the biggest I was in all day.

The venue set up was amazing too. None of this barrier bullshit ala the Big Day Out, you could move freely between the main stages and between stages. Plenty of pathways, stairways, signage, refreshments, free sunscreen etc - bloody good.

Only downer was the dust, got into everything, your eyes, your lungs.. but it did look cool swirling up out of the pits!

I went, was choice as.

Enjoyed NFG the most.

these bands were good - poison the well, dillinger escape plan, saves the day, less than jake, lamb of god
these bands weren't good - Nine inch nails, finch, red jumpsuit apparatus

would go again

I got my camera out when I saw that Warlock of Firetop Mountain guy in the first pic, and then decided I'd waste some downtime amusing myself by taking pics of daft cunts, but after 180 odd photos, it wasn't even funny anymore.
