Popped up there and had a steak & oyster pie today. Must've been BYO cheese day. Pastry was a bit weak, barely holding the pie together. There wasn't a lot of oyster, or steak for that matter. It was more blowing oyster on the tongue than fekkin full of oyster kent, which is fine by me. Positive experience overall but probably wouldn't make the mission again.

My preferred pie within reasonable distance of work is from Saint Honores in Birkenhead. Not classy by any means, just pastry that doesn't flake everywhere, and the filling's alright too. Runner up is Green Apple in Northcross, golden award-winning sorta pies.

so is a vegan chicken one who lives on a restricted diet?
no snails, crickets, worms, etc?

Yeah, but it gets tricky when you're trying to find vegan grain for the chickens to eat - those darn plants are too carnivorous!

That's a bummer! Never had a bad one from there... Mind you I haven't been there for ages... At least a couple of years. Might have changed ownership or something. Or just turned shit.

I didn't say it was bad. It's a bit far to go again and I prefer pies that are not even slightly messy to eat. The gravy-orientated filling was all good because I'm just a pastry fiend who dislikes getting his hands dirty. :calav:

Bought some kidneys the other day for a good ol' fashion kidney and mushroom sandwich. (Was good but nearly a bit much for a hangover tbh.) Saved some to make steak, bacon, kidney and mushroom pie for when I can be bothered feeling like a disgusting human again.

We're all millionaires remember, personally I've paid more more a pie ($6) it was worth eBay cent over that $4 abomination above but a bargain compared to my spa pool, 80" plasma and five bedroom house, hahaha.

Really? I was impressed by the memories brought back by my two georgie pie pies in NZ. Like when I tasted mello yellow for the first time again.

wait what? Mince and steak? I thought the only flavour was mince and cheese, and it was decent if a tad overpriced
