Fuck what a hippy.

The chippy at Brookfield is good as these days, bobbies by the wharf used to be good but the staff are fucking crazy, if they are busy and you are the only white cunt, they will not serve you, and do not whatever you do ask for it crumbed.
Last time I went there some cunt threatened me with a filleting knife cos I tried to park my bike against one of the picnic tables.
I probably should have called the cops, he was fuckin psycho.

Never ever ever ever ever go to Devonport Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe / Tiny Triumphs. One of the owners either Glenn or Anthony are the worst humans. I have never seen more pathetic bullying of staff AND customers in my life... It was some Kitchen Nightmares shit! Also the food was fucking hilariously bad...

Actually go for a laugh just try not to spend money. :baton:

Last time I was in Orewa, Kippers was way better than it used to be. Or maybe I've gotten worse.

Suprisingly good fish and chips in Kurow. Makihikihi chips are quality though.

Tried a few places since my last post and Eddie wins thus far. Grey Lynn tastes better than Bilbo's and maybe slightly cheaper. Dunno why they don't paint it up like in the music vid. Looks uninviting as.

Epsom f&c on Manukau Rd is really, really good too. You'll pay quite a bit more if you drop your usual order, but the golden goods are massive so it works out.

Eh, bit central prices maybe. Chips seemed undercooked but could just be that they were soggy by the time I walked home, bumped into a workmate etc. :baton:

The Brookfield chip shop is probably the best in Tauranga now, even surpassing bobbies fresh fish market, its not magical, just honest and good, with good specials, whilst bobbies has declined.

Fish burger and chips for $5 or two fishbugers, two hotdogs and chips for a tenner is tre value

Local chippie here it's $12 for a massive piece of fish and a decent amount of chips.

I've been back in Dunedin ten months, haven't found a chippie over average, with most well below average. May have to venture further afield than South D.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Haha yeah I saw that article. Now that is journalism. Good cunt. Had fish n chips in nz for the first time in many years this week. Was definately cheaper than aus. Burger was pretty greasy, hearty though. Onion rings were home made , good touch.
The clincher though, the sauce. The tomato sauce was amazing. The tub cost $2, bit steep I thought, that's what a scoop cost when I was a lad, but fuck me, it was sensational. Cant out my finger on it... maybe it was " Oak" brand? Loved it.

Tomato sauce is fucked in Australia, you should bring back an assortment of quality NZ product.

I miss that Whitlocks chutney one all the better chip shops would always have.

I've stuck with Tuimato for ages now, still great despite the association with some lame piss.

Anyone else appreciate waffle dogs? They seem to be hard to find outside of the Wellington region. Gaze at this beauty from Whitby Chinese Takeaway:

I had a mean fish burger and chips in picton a few days ago. Then got maggot drunk in a river not far from the city centre. Picton is nice. That is all

Yeah. Dont eat the fish and chips lol, or the Indian, or the Chinese, definately dont attempt to eat the kebabs sober. The poms are cullinarlily detached from the rest of world, it seems they just get enthusiastic about tepid flavorless mush drowning in 'brown sauce'. When the most zesty thing on your plate is called "brown sauce" you know something's wrong eh....

... baked beans with vege snags in a can are a goer.
Just go to Camden bridge with a bottle of morrisons cider and flip the bird at everyone while reciting Macc Lads and Chaotic Dischord.

Has anybody experienced a "Corn Jack", from a chip shop before?
A vegetarian option found in Australian chip shops. Essentially a large spring roll looking thing full of creamed corn and deep fried. It's pretty good.

They also have something questionable called a "Chikko roll" which looks similar but contains meat, but evidently not chicken. Apparantly it was invented in Bendigo, a semi rural Victorian town that has some impressive architecture, a Pizza Hut all you can eat... and get this... an Eagle Boys Pizza. Yes no shit. This town is stuck in a time warp, nobody bothered to tell them these franchises have long since gone bust.
Anyhow, I digress. I cannot vouch for the chikko roll, but the corn jack is quite delightful.

I've had a Chikko Roll a couple of times. The first was pretty good for the novelty factor. Otherwise not so remarkable. Reminds me of how vegetable samosas are always better than meat samosas (in my experience). I dunno if they make regular spring rolls that large anywhere though.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I think I'll go with 6½/10, considering my usual fish 'n' chips items would be more like 8/10 and above.
