Looks like it's heading that way. Although it seems like polls are wildly unpredictable these days, if the US and UK is anything to go by. Are we more or less likely to game the polls?

What did you get for TOP? Interested to see what policies diferenctiate TOP from greens and Labour.

What's everyone else views on splitting the vote? Aside from the risk that TOP will get less than 5%

While our system is designed to support coalition government, people seem to struggle with the idea of more than one party left of labour, not too sure why this is, but something to do with the far left being unable to be pragmatic/compromise - SJWs banarchists etc haven't disproved this. The far right traditionally seem to have a better rep in this regard, however maybe how shit is playing out in the US might at least even the score?

Basically I don't think the county will acknowledge/recognise the opinions of the left as being valid until a party other than labour has close to 15%. Or maybe the right also becomes fractured

Although the devil can be in the detail, they both seem pretty similar and I'd image where TOP are better the greens would probably agree. Main difference is that the greens are way more likely to get into government?

if that poll was compulsory, and everyone who took it and got TOP as their most agreed with result, actually voted for them, then they would win in a landslide.

and that sums up my views on 'splitting the vote'

as an aside, this is how policy should be made, we could do without the fuckin politicians and just everyone fill out questions like this on every issue, save the country billions.

pretty much what the internet party wanted to do

Isn't Gareth Morgan mad not to stand in an electorate? People would be more likely to vote TOP if he did, just because of the 5% thing.

A good split left would probably be a balanced one where Labour isn't the main cheese in limbo any more, and people are more inclined to throw votes to the smaller parties. Doubt it makes much difference to National though.

So it looks like Labour are shot, admitting that you've considered stepping days within 2 months from election is suicide, right?

While it looks pretty grim, their supper shitty poll results are based on landline phone survey, so seems like he'd have been better off talking up the youth vote

I only ever hear good things about Jacinda Ardern, but what do you all think of her as a labour leader?

Would rather her be pm than any other party leader by a country fucking mile. If she becomes labour leader I may consider coming out of voting retirement

nationals cronies are going hard talking shit on adern, and its probably gunna backfire, its so obvious and she has a pretty sympathetic image to most voters, theyre attacking her on the basis shes young(ish) and female, and its just making them look bad, shes just as (in)competent as any of the others and might actually represent a fresh wind in parliament, at least in the mind of the idiot voters.

i look forward to nationals defeat, and might actually vote strategically, tho probably not, if youre not voting for a change i dont know why you'd bother at all.
