This time around I am of the 'vote Labour to get National out' persuasion.

Re: American Politics Thread AKA The FacePalm Thread
Didn't vote in the last two elections, pretty funny aye
Re: American Politics Thread AKA The FacePalm Thread
Semi-seriously considered considered TOP, voted Greens all the other times.
I don't mind Gareth Morgan's eccentricities, I think it's good to be an agitator but I've fucking hated the sly winks to Trump. Stay the fuck away from that piece of shit.
I'll probably vote Greens again, stoked some of the old guard are leaving, they need to revisit some of their long held positions on homeopathy/magic healing, fluoridation, glyphosate and genetic engineering. If you want science based policy you can't pick and choose.
That being said I talked to a certain candidate recently who was keen to get that stuff back on the table and was a bit more pragmatic than some of the patchouli sniffers.

Last 3 elections:
Labour + Greens
Labour + Greens
Labour + Internet Party
I always give Labour my local MP vote because because it's Grant Robertson. I'm also a list member of the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party, but I never end up voting for them.

but then i had this conversation with him.

as you can imagine, for the better part of a day i thought he was fucking nuts.

Re: American Politics Thread AKA The FacePalm Thread
I'd like Hone in parliament just to fuck shit up a bit... but only way that will happen is if he wins a seat, Mana won't make 5%. Safe labour where I live so doesn't really matter who i vote for there, party vote will probably be green.
Edit:despite Labour fucking over Internet/Mana last election, Kelvin Davis has been a good MP. I wouldn't fancy Hone's chances going up against him.

Re: American Politics Thread AKA The FacePalm Thread
I'm still registered under my parents address which is North Shore, Auckland so the local winner is always National which sucks. I usually vote labor for the local since they're the only one with even a slight chance of ousting nats locally. Have always voted green for the party vote since they're the closest to me in terms of political orientation.
I got libertarian socialist or w/e on that vote compass thing but I think that was primarily cause of a few "no opinion" options on the weirder questions. I don't feel very libertarian, those guys are usually dicks.
when is the next election anyway?

The people's poet!
There is only one of me, it's true
But I wish this were not the case, because I wish I could have you
If instead one man I was two
That would be one for all the other and one of me for you.

Trump pulls funds away from climate change research in favour of shooting phallic monstrosities at Mars. But better than nothing I guess:

Wow. That's actually pretty awesome. It seems like NASA has been falling behind Musk and Branson in recent years.
