Just the guy fawkes mask dickheads left now. Expect some act of vandalism for the media to pick up on and discredit the movement.

I suggest that trying to fight the state on its own terms (i.e. with violence) is extraordinarily stupid. My first reaction to anyone in a mask at a protest is "are they cops"?

On all three TV channels I checked, the protest news story was ahead of the bit about the signing itself, which seems like some kind of victory.

I'm sure the govt would like nothing more than an excuse to start taking rights to protest away. I find it hard to even see the cops as part of the 'enemy' when their pay hasn't fared well compared to MPs, just like everyone else.

Are you joking? The cops are always the enemy.

Right to protest will disappear as soon as they feel like pushing it through, and it will be with the unconditional support of the majority of the public. The 'how dare they' mentality that I thought was reserved for BLM freeway blockers is alive and well in NZ.

The cops are the soldiers who get sent to war. Beat them all you want and you still haven't touched the people who sent them.

Throwing objects at MPs over this issue makes a lot more sense.
