Fuck we are a diverse bunch! -55,-54.

It's obviously US based with questions that don't always apply to us in NZ. Like all these things I could answer some questions completely differently depending on the context.

With that one, I agree, but only to a certain degree. I don't think someone should be able to cut down a big stand of native bush on their land for a dairy farm for example. And there should be a WOF for all houses, not just rentals. But still be allowed to generally do whatever the hell you like on your own property.

^bingo, i found a lot of those questions frustrating and lacking in nuance too, like i wanted to agree, but with an extra big BUT.
for quite a few i gave no answer which annoyed me a bit cos i liked seeing my position moving, for me it went straight down the central axis, saying liberal, which kinda annoyed me as i associate liberals with wealth and centrist politics, but then took a sharp left turn, about halfway, wobbled a bit, then sank further down with a slight leftward tilt, obviously im a little more anarchist than you guys

+1.
Libertarian Socialist.
Re: Political Compass
so we're all libertarian socialists, not stoked on the various connotations of that combo of words, but we should form a political party

Yeah, there's nothing we need more than another small left leaning party eating away at those <5%

The PunkAs Dysfunctional PArty.
Yeah I think it was just how the questions were grouped. The economic based ones didn't really come to the 2nd half which caused the move left or right.

Re: Political Compass
I can see it now...
Rigbly the conservative right-wing shill will climb the ranks through his association with high ranking members, will constantly discuss edgy law reforms without providing any clear reasoning, cause division amongst the party and force the caucus to reprimand him, then will belligerently blame PC and SJWs, throw a big public tantrum while leaving to join another party.
I'm not even happy sharing the same planet as some people

A lot of them seemed like loaded questions to me. Or as if there's something between the lines that I'm too stupid to think of half the time. I discarded my score but in the end it was very consistent with my last attempt at the old test.
This question in particular:
People should be free to choose which products and services they wish to purchase and not be forced to pay for something against their will.
When are people ever forced to pay for things apart from school stationery lists for the kids or sensible things such as insurance? You could treat the question as if it's a dig at Obamacare, but then you're painted fucked if you hold the opposite view when it comes to all drivers having car insurance.
Or is it saying there should there be a law that people have to buy at least a 4 pack of dunny paper per month so they don't have shitty arses?
"So you think you're floating in mint sauce son"
Re: Political Compass
well... paying for things against your will is taxation, to me this refers to products like national parks, walking tracks, clean rivers, clean air, that sort of thing, and services like hospitals, ambulances, police(ugh), roading, water, it totally should include electricity, transport, internet, all utilities, and shit like libraries, but a lot of that shit has been/is being eroded away thanks to people preferring to 'choose what they pay for'.
this is because a low/no tax system is one that works for the wealthy, and the wealthy have gotten very good at convincing the poors to vote against their own interest.
i think one of the biggest things in nz is that we are not a poor nation, so even a lot of the poorest people feel like they arent doing too bad, living in a rockstar economy, you can get nearly anything on credit, just gotta work hard til youre 80, get off your ass etc.
i think the average NZer lives in a fantasy, i have met so very many people, mostly single males, particularly white ones of course, who reckon they are doing fucking great earning $700 a week in their 20's, and they were, but now they have a couple kids and a 3rd or 4th one on the way, lots of debt, wages gone up to almost $750, but hes got no spending money, sits at home drinking cheap beer, hes on the brink of financial ruin and still think john key is a top bloke, considering voting for winston peters next time tho.
dont want those fuckin greenies or labour tho(tbh i dislike them too).
...well that descended into a rant, fucking ignorance is NZ's problem.

I think the US is a perfect example of this right now.
Hillary is a fucking nightmare but at least if she was president grassroots people could work on making things like health and education better rather than dealing with the absolute shit show that is Trump.
It might not effect most people personally who is in government but it sure as fuck effects the people at the bottom of the ladder. Fuck your privilege.

honestly I want to get into politics more but it's so hard with so many liberal media news outlets being biased as fuck and in the pockets of politicians and corporations. Pretty much the only source keeping it real as far as I can tell is InfoWars and Wikileaks
