US archaeologists have used satellite imaging to discover 17 buried pyramids in Egypt, as well as a thousand tombs and 3000 buildings dating back to the time of the Pharaohs.

Some of the infra-red imaging, taken 692 kilometres above the Earth, showing entire street plans of ancient towns.

At least two of the pyramids have so far been confirmed by archaeologists digging on the sites located by the satellite, and the technique is being hailed as a major breakthrough in archaeological surveying.

Etc etc.

Pretty amazing really and I ain't some HC faggot who uses Amazing for no given reason, but this is truely Amazing. 17 Pyramids, fuck thats alot of History that is about to come up. I wonder when they are going to understand and know more information about our Sea Floors/Depths then the local Moon and Solar System. Atlantis along with a few other things are down there, I'd say the downfall of man and our true creations have alot of information buried in Egypt along with sea depths. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a Weapon like FF7 down there ready to come up and fucken jack everyones lambos.

My MA thesis was using satellite data to map prehistoric rock gardens on Rapa Nui. Not into that period Egypt but it would be cool to find out the location of these sites (once confirmed) and test the capabilities of free satellite imagery products like Landsat. Once Google launch their GIS program with cloud based data anyone should be able to do this. Or you could find an ENVI or ERDAS Imagine torrent and have a hoon. Livestock and the geologists on here are probly all over this
