IMO folks who abuse animals rank right up there with pedofiles, rapists, and serial killers.

Maybe it's a cultural difference but if you guys down there think it's cool to abuse animals, then your culture is majorly fucked. Studies show folks who kill and torture animals do all sorts of fucked up shit.

The puppy hurl is a minor part of the article, and there's not even a mention of it being injured. If your reactions have a scale to them, I'd like to see your reaction to BP choking so many animals with oil.
You're right I want to see BP go out of business. but more importantly I have to see the US's policy towards the petro/energy companies radically changed.

Let me give you an example.... when I was 14 my cousin tied the back legs of of two cats together and threw them over a clothes line during a block party (all the kids and adults in a neighborhood at a party) I beat his ass, broke his nose and knocked out 2 teeth. All the adults said was he had it coming and that his folks should get him in therapy before he does something really bad.

and based on the responses so far if I was in NZ the response would have been "HAHAHA stupid cats it's 'da funny cuz da bleed , you should not have hit your cousin"

Golly. You're going to end up hurting a lot of children if you move here.

if your being honest that animal torture is really that common in your country it's just further proof that the population of NZ should be wiped from the earth.

There is nothing you can say that refutes the fact that the puppy hurling guy didn't deserve to get punched in the mouth.

and if you say that him getting punched in the mouth is worse than throwing a puppy then your values are seriously out of wack.

Animal abuse is all part of growing up. Who hasn't kicked a dog or thrown kittens on the motorway?

I don't give a shit how fucking crazy he is. that isn't a justifiable defense in the US.
So am I to conclude that in NZ if someone is on some random medication and went to therapy a couple of times and does some fucked up shit your society goes "oh poor little guy" and gives him a slap on the wrist?
Is that how it works down there, if so you guys are fucking stupid.

In the US if someone fucks up they pay for it regardless if they are a little depressed and went to the doc to get a few pills.

When my cat comes in from the cold, sometimes I put him in the microwave to warm him up a bit, but sometimes i set it for a bit too long and he gets a bit burned and shit. But it's all good cause his fur goes all fluffy and he does this cute crying noise and stuff and it wasn't on purpose anyway hahaha.

Stop winding him up :P

Archie I'm sure just as much animal abuse happens in the states as it does here, if not more.

And I can assure you that average NZers are very capable of both your hysterical and hypocritical reactions to the treatment of animals.

Yeah, I think living in the US has skewed your views on what is appropriate behaviour around animals Archibald. If a few cats have to have their necks wringed, and a few dogs get their legs broken to make a party that much more hilarious, it is OK in most parts of the world (especially if it is a punk party).

Yeah I found out the hard way that guinea pigs take a waaaaaaay shorter time to warm up in the microwave than cats.

everyone knows how much the media inflates this shit. Depending on the size/type of dog, and whether he threw it or just tossed it or whatever, it may not even have been an act of cruelty. I've seen people that wrestle with their pets and throw them around, and the pets seem pretty stoked, so I'm not going to go assuming that this is some 'animal abusing sicko'.

Damn looks like I missed a few posts. Had to go walk the perimeter and check my snares for cats. No dice. Might be time to jack it in and become a perdofile.

On an actually serious note, InkedScot is right about culture- from what I saw in the States, even animals are treated better than the mentally ill.

This has gone on too long, I realize that most of what's been said was in jest, meant to get under my skin so I take it with a grain of salt. and as far as punks being more prone to animal abuse that bullshit, in the past 25 years I've been to a lot of parties and I've never seen a skin or punk abuse an animal. maybe you guys are just bored and callous.

anyway I'm done

I'm genuinely interested as to what the previous proof is? If it's that Franko song, I agree.

In Most Parts of the World, Animals are Treated Kindly and with Gentleness; in New Zealand, They are Raped, Tortured, Poisoned, Run Over and Bludgeoned to Death
