FUNNY TO A POINT: Vandals last week made a greasy alteration to one of Porirua City Council's promotional billboards.

Porirua - it's finger lickin' good?
One of the city council's new billboards, erected at the start of the year to promote Porirua's vibrancy and diversity, was last week turned into: A) A KFC promo, B) A drunken lark, C) Mean-spirited jibe at the Pacific community, or D) All of the above.
The 4.2m x 2.4m sign at the southern entrance to Porirua on State Highway 1 features award-winning barbershop trio Island Boys United.
It was defaced last Thursday night, but rather than tag or rip holes in the billboard, the vandals stuck KFC buckets into the hands (and in once case, on the head) of the young crooners.
Empty wine bottles could be seen at the foot of the billboard.
