so what's everyone's predictions short and long term?

Sort of feels like a doomed to fail national-NZ first coalition offers the best chances of a left government down the track, with any other pairing likely to fuck the greens or labour

Probably not in Labour or Green's interests to try to form a government with NZ First. In the next 3 years they'll get a few minor victories when NZ First refuses to support individual pieces of legislation. Winston is unlikely to run in 2020, and NZ First will disappear then. Hopefully Chloe Swarbrick and Golriz Ghahraman (likely to get in on special votes) will be able to build their profiles in that time, both have significant youth appeal.

Have to admit, I remain to be convinced by Chloe Swarbrick.

Maybe this is me being jaded and "old", but Todd Barclay was sure as hell too young to be in parliament, and I'd suggest she might be as well.
I think it's lint.

Agree. No where near enough experience and hasn't put the work in on the issues she's meant to be advocating for, fuck all background int he party too. Will love to be proven wrong on this but I do think there's at least one amazing and dedicated person that should have been returned before her who was below her on the list. A case where the greens members based list ranking system has it's limits maybe, when someone totally new can come on board and bring new members with them who rank them high...

From what I've read she seems a bit ignorant of the importance of regional NZ too, which seems a bit at odds with what has been coming from higher levels in the Green Party lately.

Maybe the sooner young people got the fuck over Auckland, the better off all of NZ would be.

On the plus side, she's not an entitled dick who shills for big tobacco. So let's give her a chance.

I think we should invite Kim Jong Un to be in charge of New Zealand.
