Postby M@ » Thu Oct 03, 2002 10:55 am

we'll ok this could turn out to be a stupid post but....

i guess some of u are more fashion-wise than others...so lets share our tips...how to be dress punk?, how to dress hardcore, how to dress emo?, how to dress ska-ish, hair styles that look kewl? etc....

i know theres not exaclty a comprohensive guide to all those styles but it will be interesting to c how people dress for those styles...i do remember on the last msg board there was this post (or similar) and it was quite interesting what people said about dressing for those styles....

so share, explain and learn.....

I have a 12 hour ritual for punk concerts...

4 hours on my hair.
4 hours on studding and patching my jacket and shit.
4 hours looking at myself in the mirror trying to get a good punk vibe.

But that's just me.

Your serious.... who cares, wear what you want. Hey I got an idea, instead of buying clothes to look punk/hardcore/ska spend your money on cds & records instead... just an idea.

8O You have got to be fuckin kidding, punk is not about what clothes and fashion accesories you wear, you can still be punk without a mohawk or chains or whatever, punk is about being yourself and wearing what you wanna wear.

your right, i dont dress the way i do so that i'll fit in....it does interest me, dressing different for styles of music and i think it'd be kewl to learn new stuff, cos sometimes dressing the same all the time can be boring....

this is bullshit not many people on this board can say that they dont dress a certain way because of the styles of music they listen to. Fuck spending your money on CD's or clothes save it up and go on a trip to see the bands you like live. Anyway here are some of my takes on P/R fashion

Emo - Dress like a kid from a Indie band but just be better looking and pose heaps and look intense for the ladies, and wear a backpack everywhere, buy black hair dye also. If you actually score a chick you must fuck it up and write a song about it on acoustic guitar and sing it to score more chicks that you will eventually fuck it up with.

Hardcore - Levi's white 501 t-shirt, Stone wash 501 jeans, and black Mr Henry shoes, old skool ray bans (john lennon style) and a black pork pie hat

Metal - singlet, shorts and jandals and a hat with pretend bird shit on it and "BLOODY SEAGULLS" writen on it

Krusties - Gucci sunglasses, Versace suit, swanky haircut, rolex watch
and a flash pair of undies.

Punk - Tire shoulder pads with spikes, spiky hair, heaps of chain wrapped around your chest, a chainsaw, dart wrist gun, and a souped up post apocalyptic (spl?) dune buggy, also odd bit of make up

ok il dredge up this quote again im sure ive already said it here or maybe somewhere else...

but i saw a guy on a doco once, he says:(london accent like the business or someone from eastenders)
"In 1977 all you 'ad 2 do 2 be a punk was walk down the street in ya pyjama's with a saftey pin thru ya ear........ nowadays 2 be recognised as a punk i have 2 sit 4 2 'ours ev'ry morning gettin my 'air done,(his head is covered in footlong spikes)i 'ave ta wear a 80pound leather jacket from 'arrods and i 'ave ta hang out with this lot a wankers"(indicates his mates who laugh)
hes a dude who looks about 40 has a big ass beard and looks more like a biker(apart from the hair) oh well,

if u really want 2 know how punx dress download the Nihilism video (rancid u dum fuck)
