So? It's called sticking to the topic and ino-one wants to roll out the dreaded "use the PM" line.

I use a lot of the recipies in this section, and find most of the posts quite interesting. Just coz I give you shit for your non-bacon, non-cheese bacon cheeseburgers, doesn't mean I think this is some sort of mockery forum. Judging from your posts, you are far less open-minded with your opinions.

JMow, hilarious stuff :)

bacon is just pork treated a certain way, its it the prep..

maybe u should think about how it gets its particular flavour before rubbishing applying that same flavour to non-meat for people who have conciences.

chicken bacon is nicer than pig bacon, i havnt tried it except when it was homemade from those flattened chicken breasts..

i can see a pretty good comparison to pork and chicken as moking weed or tobbaco

a) weed = chicken
b) tobbacco = pork

a) is good for u and makes u feel good (high/taste)
b) is bad for you, and makes u feel a little bit good (taste and high) but not much
a) and b) both cause unnessacary suffering when abused (factory farming and drug[inc tabboacco] abuse)
so basically cutting out the least fun substance (b)) you halve suffering and up your own health.

whats stopping you!!!?

Did you know drinking cofffee is not very socially aware. Cofee producers pay the lowest wages of any farming industry and many are tied intrinsically to cocaine cartels.
Cocaine cartels are deemed pretty bad.

If you like I will send you links about how animals do not have a developed conciousness like humans and how we are further up the food chain. Its not that im too lazy to go vege or vegan, its that I view animals I eat as a product to be consumed.

Frankly I just dont care enough.

defending your beliefs eh? admirable but anyone can use that excuse, strict vegans, straight edgers, neo-nazi skins, the klu klux klan, black supremacists, paedophiles, etc.

This is a forum for open discussion - we take others opinions and discuss with our own.

I don't comprehend "fake bacon" and "fake sausages'' - not "meat replacement" of which I comprehend very well. I may be very wrong in my thinking, but I thought the point was humans don't need to eat meat. And people are always talking about tofu and similar items - my girlfriend uses alot of tofu in her meals - instead of meat. That I understand, as a lot of meals we eat were designed to have meat and vegetable in them.

I'm not a big fan of meat (although I do eat it when I want), but I try to eliminate from meals where it is unecessary. For example, nachos - I don't replace the mince with minced tofu or anything, I just add more veges and beans.

I just can't see the point to go to such lenghts to recreate something you have such an inherent dislike for.

So that is my opinion on it. What exactly is yours?

You can have mince with them. Mince with sour cream on top.

Ah I think I can see how that works, i've always had beans in my nachos... (probably why I don't eat them often ;))

god, do you read your own posts afterwards? if so, do you laugh at your witty humour? or bite yourself coz of how stupid you really are?

please go with option B next time.

The only "fake meat" i consume is vegedogs. but since when can i remember hotdogs tasting like meat? and the amount of shit i cook with, it just ends up acting as a filler for a meal.
Meat as a whole, kinda just grosses me out. Never realy liked red meat as a kid (thats why our dog got quite fat, slippin the food under the table).

I actually have a sneaking suspicion from a health point of view, fake meat has more fat in it. Given that a good waistline and fit ass is pretty much the goal of anybody worth anything it is a worthwhile consideration.

I bet Trash is well sexy though.

Isn't, by by simpke semantic gymnastics anything that isn't 'meat' actually 'fake meat.'?

Depends on how far you are willing to strecth gymnastics into gymspastics... I am pretty sure even with any semantic battering that there would need to be an intention to create a 'meat-a-like' for it to be fake meat... unless you entire system of meaning revolves around the dichotomy of meat and non-meat products, with meat being the clear superior...

who knows... fake meat is all good - vegedogs and tofu luncheon are the shizznit... they just don't tent to be as greasy as their meat counterparts, and you don't get a fine figure like mine from eating greasy food...

Good point, in order for it to be a 'fake' or, to use the less derogatory, 'substitute' it would have to be something intended to replace it. By my former logic anyone in the world who doesn't post as 'themselves' (although, few 'genuine posters' use their real names) are 'fake posters.' Like the person next to me who isn't even on Punkas.
