Hung Jury

Postby James D » Mon Dec 23, 2002 5:30 pm

It was fuckin cool to finally see Hung Jury at unityfest.
Who are a wicked band. I loved them live.
What did everyone else think?

I hear they're gonna be outta action for a while, which is a bit of a pisser. But alas i'm looking forward to the hearing the new recordings.

It was neat to finally meet pete, who hitched from wellington to auckland in 6 and a half hours with nothing but $1.97 and a loaf of bread. It was also nice to meet pert(you duck) and nick again. Aswell as kathy(it had been too long), who is lovelier than, um... you. You guys are the nicest bunch of people and are totally welcome to stay here again anytime you want, i always have a spare bed/floor/shower/lawn. Tops. That goes for you too fuzz and almey.

$1.97 and a loaf of bread? pfffft. i hitched from aucks to welly with NOTHING and had to steal food from the supermarket in welly and got arrested for it so i got nothinng in the end anyway. beat THAT pete. yeah thats the second time ive seen hung jury play and they were the cats pyjamas once again i thought. hey when does your second recording come out or whatever? ill buy one offa ye.
Everywhere I went it felt like they were watching me; fish-white flesh puckered by the Highland breeze; tight eyes peering out for fresh meat; screechy, booze-soaked voices hollering out for a taxi to take ‘em halfway up the road to the next all-night watering hole. A shatter of glass; a round of applause; a sixteen-year-old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on, chewing on potato cakes. I ain’t never going back… not never.

I enjoyed Hung Jury very much... loved Kathy's vocals and well done to the boys. A most excellent performance. It was definately a must see and a highlight.

T'woz nice to meet everybody... I wont mention the names... I'll be here forever... but one person I'm kicking myself for not meeting is the burger man himself, Pete. Oh well next time hun.

Oh well... sometime within the next year coming I'd like to do some more vocal work... if anyones interested give me a pm... not too soon in the new year...

Righto...

stealing from a supermarket? LUXURY! back in my day we had to shuvel coal for 13 hours a day, walk home for 5 hours, sweep the lawn for 6 hours, then our dads would beat us to death for 2 hours and we would STILL have to be up at dawn to make breakfast for the whole family, THEN we would be able to hitch with no food.

LUXURY!

Tara, start a band with me, I'll help ya :)

Hun you have excellent pitch, and can hit notes perfectly n do complex melody lines. The only thing you would have to work on is volume, strength of your notes and stamina to fully belt them out from your cheast rather then singing from your 'head'' if that makes any sense.

But you could fully do it :)
