Palmerston North Band History

Postby $LAVE » Mon Feb 28, 2005 7:51 pm

Nah - you guys would rather sound like something from LA or New York wich is both original and closer to your roots cos you grew up east side in the gang land!

good on you for wanting to sound like your influences man, I guess your first hurdle is that YOU NEED A BAND?!?

this is total bs, once again another attempt to do something fuckin interesting and positive (that diagram had been on a haggard piece of A3 for about 6 years) has resulted in another punkas bitch session...

Well fuuuuuuuuuuuuck yous, you know where I live palmy cats if you wanna continue this...

Guys, guys, guys...

It's all good man, all good.

Palmy has a real distinctive sound. Always has done always will do and it won't be everyones cuppa tea. Thats sweet. But to deny the importance of the work that the gigging bands do to keep the scene alive here, or to say "You guys" or"swamp metal" like there is two teams or that all the bands here have some shared mystical connection that makes them crap is just stupid.

Palmy has, is and will been leader in creating interesting distinct and wicked music. At some points in our history we've had some of the best bands in the country. Jimi named a few historic ones and you could add Cathedra or Hellbourne to tha list. 7.62 short played a gig in Wellington last year after a fuckin brutal Backyard Burial set and fully impressed the wellington massive. Are these all examples of some amorphos Swamp Metal that all "us guys" play?

Just remember that the band you are ACTUALLY IN is always better than the band IN YR HEAD. With out all the gigs that we are doing now you dudes might not have even been talking about forming a band.

It'll be choice to see a bit of the Auckland (LA, Boston, NY) sound getting played down here. So shut up and put out!
