Malenky Robot, Karaoke & Die Die Die!

Postby ted the bastard » Mon Jan 17, 2005 8:43 am

Fuck! Don't leave it to me to start off this review ya slack ass cunts, I was munted.
Missed the first band, I remember Karaoke & they were mean, especially Dan's drumming \m/. Last band were Diex3 I beleive & they lost, or rather, I was having real battles staying on my feet so ventured outside for the relative safety of a warm seat.

Cheers for the night everyone involved, it was fun.

This was a great show.

malenky Robot's first full line-up show in a while and it was intense.

karaoke were cool, but can anyone out there thinking of forming a band please NOT buy relationship of command.

Die! x3 were entertaining as always, some nice back and forth between Andrew and more vocal members of the crowd.

That's all.

interesting considering they were bookended by burn piano island burn and songs about fucking. and at the drive-in is a pretty rudimentary comparison.

malenky robot rule. pity i couldnt hear the vocals at all PR BAR GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

I wasn't having a go at Karaoke, I really enjoyed them, it just seems every time I go to a show I see a band like this. Fuck, I'm in one for Christ's sake.

At the drive-in is a pretty righteous comparison

The singer had a perfectly cultivated Cedric Afro, come on!

Gee, what a fun night.

Malenky Robot were cool, I didn't enjoy them as much as usual because I know how much better they can sound with a reasonable PA. Oh well, I was still digging.

Karaoke. Woooooooooooooooo! What a fun band! I instantly got super excited when they started playing. Cameron is definitely a charismatic frontman. A frontman with curly hair means there'll be tonnes of ATDI comparisons... although Relationship of Command should be mandatory listening for kids making some sort of post-hardcore anyway. I hear the influence but Karaoke have got enough of their own thing going on and they certainly do it better than most.

Die!Die!Die! - always a wild show, and they turned up the vox enough to hear them. These kids are crazy and I love it.

....relationship of command?

see past the afro dude, sounds more like botch crossed with these
arms are snakes, maybe a bit of blood bros? but not really camp
enough to go there... btw they were excellent in hamtown(karaoke),
really solid playing, i got respect for people who stand still and
actually play really WELL, too much kudos goes out to throwing guitars around..

mark b was telling me that karaoke are jamming a lot of the time when,
the play live??
i figure someone in the band told him ...nice!

Malenky robot totally blew my mind.

Karaoke dont sound like ATDI. I have heard bands do a bad half assed tribute to that band and yeah karaoke arent doing that there is no much more to their music. Dont dissmiss so early huh?
Karaoke are one of my favourite bands ever. I always knew they were going to be beyond fucking special! oh alex is the bass god.

Die! Die! Die! were the worst i have ever seen them. worse than bluenote. get some consistancy you poser cunts.

Will you guys fucking get some reading comprehension lessons or something?

As I said before.
Twice.

I enjoyed them
I enjoyed them
I liked them
They were really good
And lovely guys
Talented musicians.

It was more the stage show that reminded me of ATDI then the music.

And I didn't diss them for it, anyway.

I just said anymore bands in a similar vein and the air might start to get thin.

Is that clear enough?

PS

I think Karaoke are a really good band.

Malenky were the band of the night to me.
Karaoke were excellent but yeah maybe not my thing.
I have alot of respect for people who throw their guitars around.
diex3 were pretty messy and hadnt practiced. haha. Really fun though.

I saw karaeoke play in H-town.I was Most impressed and i had high expectations, because of friends hyping them up. Awesome musicianship and nice use of effects pedals by both the bassist and guitarist. If they were jamming alot when they played aswell then RESPECT!

i don't know the bassist fulla... but i'm willing to vouch for rich and dan's rad msucianship styles... i've always enjoyed watching them play (killdeer, guest stabs host, early deadline, shumway and def terrorists spring to mind as examples of radness they have been involved in)

You took your post off because I made it clear that everyone who replied to that comment was an idiot who read three words out of the whole post.
And completely misconstrued them.

Still, what more can you expect from punkbitch.com?

No hard feelings?

fuck you futureboy

karaoke were cool, but can anyone out there thinking of forming a band please NOT buy relationship of command.

it is quite obvious what a cynical and cutting remark this is...

and also all the rebuttal at your post deals with the fact karaoke doesn't really sound anything like at the dirve in NOT that you don't like them,

in fact i don't doubt that you can like them AND still make patronising comments about "not buying relationship of command"

Angry

I also said that I was just as guilty of it.

get over yourself.

Please also see: "More in their stage presence then in their sound"

The Pa was too shit to really hear what was going on.

If I've patronised them I've also patronised myself.

I can't help it if you're a grumpy old fucker with the comprehension of a 5 year old.

luke, whole end of the long song is a frequently practised "structurless" jam.

the new song is a jam from start to finish.

wow, ATDI comparisons? really?

you suck.
I'm not a cool guy anymore.
