Punk records from traditionally non punk countries

Postby Big Bird » Sat Jan 10, 2015 3:56 am

Haven't been on here in donkeys years but thought I would spread the word about TAM 89 Records that puts out punk records from obscure places. Think the dude who runs it does some kind of humanitarian work that takes him to all hard up corners of the world where he hunts out local punk music on his days off. While he's off galavanting, distribution is left up to Darbouka Records in France. Managed to hear a Iranian comp they put out and it would seem they might have sold a few Rammstein CD's in that country.

darbouka_records@yahoo.fr

DETOX / BEIRUT SCUM SOCIETY (Lebanon): “Revolution is the fashion” Crazy punk versus chaotic punk (EP: 5 euro)

MAZHOTT (Syria): “s/t” punk rock (EP: 5 euro)

V/A (Morocco): “Chaos in Morocco” 5 great punk and hardcore bands share this compilation. Most of the songs are sung in arab language.(LP: 11 euro)

V/A (Pakistan): “Never mind the taqwacore, here's the real deal” For the first time: 8 pakistani punk bands on a piece of vinyl.(EP: 5 euro)

V/A (India): “Disenfranchised in India” Forget about Bollywood, here's real Indian punk with 14 differents bands!(LP:11 euro)

CHORNAYA RADUGA (Transnistria): “All of us will fly...” If you like Grazhdanskaya Oborona, you'll love this transmistrian band.(EP: 5 euro)

V/A (Suriname / Guyana): “Suriname punks meet Guyana punks” punk rock (EP: 5 euro)

They are available from DARBOUKA, and you can even get all 7 of them with the special price of 41 euro + postage.

Distributors can get in touch for wholesale prices.

You'll find here some records for sale, all the money earned from the sales will go in future projects.

Bands and labels interested in working with me, please get in touch.

playing confrontational punk rock in middle eastern countries could be like shooting yourself in the foot if you can be arrested for making a poster of a Buddha wearing headphones
