Bogan venues in Auckland.

Postby buckton » Tue Aug 14, 2012 11:07 pm

So my mates getting married I've gotta organize a night out in Auckland and don't know shit about the place. got the day sorted with a nice game of paintball. Not gonna be a heap of people just want somewhere chill with some sweet food that plays good music ie metal/punk. What's Kings Arms like on a Thursday night? Also cheapish places to stay in the CBD for 7-10 people.

I'd go to the thirsty dog on Krd bro.
Kings arms music depends entirely on what's on.

Indie. Not bogan.

Indie/hipster/too cool auckland cunts like those Eddie Murphy and Jeff Pickering bastards. It's certainly not what springs to mind when you use the word "bogan".

It's certainly not "Bogan". I can't stand the place personally.

Thirsty Dog is the best bar in Auckland but yeah if it's Ska night I guess that's no help to you.

You could try bar eden on dominion road - above the glengarry in the shops. Has a free jukebox you can choose with an okay selection of 'bogan" tunes, 6 dollar unlimited pool, some cheap beers and the pokies, with whatever sky sport has on.

Maybe bogan was the wrong word, maybe sweet pubs to drink at that cunts that aren't cool enough to drink with town cunts can go to in Auckland would have been a better title.

Walk down the street, see a bar, go in and drink beer. Not that hard.

Whammy is great for cheap(er) drinks and alright for hanging out at. They just aren't gonna play much metal/punk music at all except when there's a metal/punk show on.

i dont think NZ has the capacity to have a dedicated "metal" bar

buckton asked for somewhere that plays good music. Some venues actually play good music even when there's no gig on.
