Drummer for a less than serious punk band.

Postby TheWoollups » Wed Feb 19, 2014 4:40 pm

Hey guys,

We are looking for a drummer that isn't relying on music to pay their bills, can handle less than political, less than serious and hilarious punk and wants have a SHITLOAD OF FUCKING FUN.

Haz (bass, Lead vocals) and Sam (Guitar, Vocals) are The Woollups... (plus a drummer, please?)

The Misfits write songs about murdering their girlfriends, we write music about murdering some ass...

We are a bunch of funny fuckers, and don't love being buttholes.

We have written a few songs already, just need a drummer to complete the ingredients to nanas warm apple pie before we seriously get down to business with the writing and shit, so please, you fuckin stick swingers, come bang your sticks on the drums to our licks and bullshit vocals about stupid shit :)

Haz - an excellent promoter also, working in the music industry for many years on the side and has done some pretty crazy shit with events, so we won't be shy of bookings once we get tight enough to slap down some serious fuckin' punk & roll.

0226283828 if you wanna have a look into our lives a little more and meet us with the possibility of joining us.

Love,

The Woollups

The person who ends up on drums becomes privy to the knowledge of what a Woollup is, however, we will explain that at all of our shows anyway :)

Cool. Real Illuminati shit, huh? I'm in, but we will need to sort out an appropriate ambigram for our band logo. What are your thoughts on the reptilian takeover of Aotearoa?

My best guess is woollup = giddyup + wool over your eyes, blindly riding the long white sheep into the endtimes

Haha, good call, however, we care far less about life than that. It's about licking buttholes.

Well I wish you good luck in finding a drummer so you can play gigs and educate everyone about licking buttholes. Apparently you guys prefer to do the licking rather than being the one getting licked:

Rofl, not what the band is about, just an inside joke for the name and its neither about rimming or being rimmed.. but that's besides the point.

We write kick ass punk with a whole lot of energy. Does everything need to be political?

Yes, we are all political activists in political bands who read political books while listening to political podcasts. Political or politics the political politic.

I'm curious to know which part of my post was political. I'd vote Butthole Woolluping for prime minister if I thought you had a licking chance.

Look, I just came on here looking for a drummer... If I came on here and asked if anyone wanted to be a dick and give us shit, I would have.
I didn't say anyone was being political, I was just saying that's not what we are about.

See, this is why there are fuck all punk gigs in Auckland. Who would want to start a band when they get shut down before people even hear them?

Show some support for people trying to keep the music alive. No pessimistic bullshit welcome here... Life is good.

That's a bit of a less than hilarious post. Not sure how you equate getting attention with being shut down. If there'd been no responses to your thread we wouldn't have glanced twice, but now you've got us all curious about your band. You've stuck your hand in the funny fucker tank of less than serious sharks and got them to take the bait. Keep it up.

Yeah, we may be giving you grief but it is good natured and keeps your thread bumped. Unless you go all Black Light on it you'll probably even manage to drag a few people from here to a gig once you're underway.

Drummer for a less than serious punk band

Postby Victorshuck » Mon Jul 17, 2017 8:58 am

Hey. Are you still looking for a drummer?
Im 18, but Ive played drums for about 11 years. Im into metal and rock, things like Tool, black metal too, such as Opeth. Im currently situated near Waikato Uni. Where would you happen to practice?
Ive currently got a Roland electric kit. Ive also played bass in bands before, I can play piano and guitar a little, and Ive had quite a bit of song-writing experience. I could show some examples if youre would likethough in MIDI format.
Anyway, If you guys are interested, please reply. Im pretty keen to find a band, and your music sounds pretty cool.
