Okay so The X-Files is coming properly now it seems - a whole 10 episodes.

Can we talk about the 6 episodes last year? Either the best, or most dismally fan-insulting sci-fi come back ever. 0X

Rhys Darby playing a shape-shifting reptilian cellphone salesman made me want to yell terrible things at Chris Carter. Then we're led to believe there's never been aliens at all on Earth other than the Roswell crash, but everyone on Earth has alien-DNA in them, all UFOS and other unexplained phenomena are all various 'above top secret' government programs including Mulder's sister's 'abduction' (which easily ties in with the clones of his sister at the farm in an earlier season). Mulder and Scully's kid, William, was adopted out as he's likely an alien-DNA super-soldier or something, and would have been 15 years old but makes no appearance. Mulder and Scully have long since separated. The ending resulted in the smoking man and his shadow government ultimately succeeding and planet-wide population control or perhaps transportation commencing, and as Mulder and Scully are apparently wiped out it ended.

Wtf? Did that even happen? This is not a joke, Christ Carter, you piece of shit. It was all so bitter-sweet.

This new season could resolve or bury The X-Files.

What did I get wrong, or am otherwise missing?

I enjoyed it because I knew how infuriating it would be to the fan base.

I like it when other old people cry about the future being strange and frightening to them.

General if you're planning some sort of Quiet Earth scenario in your head convincing everyone to euthanize is the slow way to achieve it.
