Thought Skyfall was pretty decent, lot funnier than expected. Javier Bardem is great.

You thought it was funny? I didn't think any of the one-liners landed well at all. Thought the movie was great, but those seemed almost out of place. Just me?

Agreed. Went back to its roots a bit. Invisible bond car among other overthetop gadgets dont make for great movies. A few questionable moments but a pretty good watch. Still wished i was watching an archer movie though

First Bond film I've seen on the big screen for a while. Good direction and execution, but the story feels patchy and key pieces seemed to be missing.
The whole thing about Bond and MI6 being outdated was terribly contrived. The villain's motivation for hunting M obsessively and being lured to a trap was thin (he still had the list).

very true about key pieces being missing - everything seemed to link together a little too easily. Nothing in the story that had a twist or made you think wow they put that together really well!
Did anyone else think it was a bit wrong that the Severine girl he smashed in the shower was a victim of the sex slave trade?
If Daniel Craig is going to play the next James Bond, they are going to have to increase the age of his root. He might have that secret agent spy charm but looking a bit old.

Not surprised you didn't like it Chris, the movie was well over two hours. I definitely couldn't imagine you sitting still for that long ;-)

Thought it was alright. Some of the scenes were stupidly unoriginal and the plot was even thinner than usual.

Only mystery is why CK didn't make a DAAYUUUUM post.

I just seen it last night - in Whangamata classic beach flea-pit cinema... worth going to see anything there for the old skool cinema ambiance alone

I liked it, which surprised me given that i think Craig makes a shit Bond. what a fuckin' lunk

Suprised you didnt do a "Daaaaaaaaaaaaayyymn" of ol Daniel Craig himself Chris, given the implied bisexual nature of Bond.

Good movie. Enjoyed this much more than the last one.

I thought it was cool that it was a traditional Bond film for the first two hours, then it all went wrong and all the traditional Bond tropes were subverted and then turned back around at the end. Managed to hold my attention anyway.
