I know looks like it could've been a complete abortion reading some of that, I'd love to see footage of that Ms Piggy cameo but it was during rehearsals so no footage probably exists.

pigs in space is more of a star trek parody anyway, and theres more buck rogers in it than star wars, possibly even more blakes 7 too.

mind you, those space adventure movies and shows are all basically the same.

i've got george lucas' first drafts for the star wars movie, they're completely different stories altogether, quite fun to check out, but a bit TL;DR at the same time.

will post when i get home if anyone is interested, or they should be easy enough to find on the interweb anyway.

thats cause all the skywalker men are whiny little bitches. Must be the unusually high midi-chlorian levels.

that said, Star Wars = my life.

Oh I always thought SW was pinched from The Lensman.

Anyway, my son really enjoys that Pigs In Space episode. Like "watching-it-every-fuckin-day" enjoying it.

A bit of Lensmen, a bit of Dune and heaps of an old Samurai tale involving a simple farm boy, a mystic, a couple of bumbling peasants and a behelmeted warlord who's actually the farm boy's dad from what I've gathered.

Not to mention that Leto II is way more badarse than Jabba and Palpatine combined.

My main issue is people hanging off Lucas's nutsacks and claiming that Ep IV is the best movie of all time, etc.

Still waiting for a decent Dune movie though. Best part of Lynch's is Toto and "The Bene Geserit Witch must leave" at the start. Will have to set apart time to watch the mini-series another time when I haven't just finished reading the book. I have some hope for the new one, if it doesn't fall through again.

Empire Strikes Back is the best movie of all time....

most great movies are stolen ideas from somewhere. Just look at Night of the Living Dead. Guess the difference is that George A. Romero admits to stealing...George Lucus is a nutsack BUT I do like alot of his movies.

What did Night Of The Living Dead steal exactly?

"I had written a short story, which I basically had ripped off from a Richard Matheson novel called I Am Legend." -George A. Romero

I'm sure also read somewhere that he had co written the original script with someone (called "the invisible man" or something???) and then stolen the idea and re wrote it as NotLD. I could be mistaking this for something else though...

See this is what irks me, Lucas is one of the all time appropriaters of other peoples ideas and building on them, but then wants that buck to stop with him. Lame.

And just for the record, Disney can suck it too.

This was the version of Dune I'd want to see:

http://www.duneinfo.com/unseen/jodorowsky.asp

Jodorowsky, Salvador Dali, HR Giger, Dan O'Bannon and, uh, Pink Floyd.

would much rather see a really well made version of dune that was true to the first couple of books and directed by a master like peter weir for example. some that understands getting true emotions from their actors and can handle the wars of conversation that are in the books - which is half of what they are. like someone said earlier; some of the best parts of lynch's film were the scenes like when alia is getting into the mind of the reverend mother. that stuff and the martial art/military aspects. would be keen to see that.

I remember seeing those go up for sale, I didn't have the $ at the time so I had to let them slide.
