I'm no authority on the subject, but:

- An unholy amount of running
- Turning your standard 3 meals a day into smaller but more frequent emails
- More water than you care to drink for the week leading up, next to none for the 24 hours before weigh-in
- Kiss booze goodbye
- Increased Protein intake and lessening carb intake
- Black coffee or other diuertics like mountain tea / dandelion root (tastes like ass)
- Steer clear of sugar
- Emergency Sauna haha

There is no evidence to suggest this has any effect. Sending out more emails is interesting though. Will try.

Eating smaller meats more often does work, constantly grazing on nuts etc.
I got that from the horses mouth with the Team Nutritionist at camp a couple of months ago - sure enough worked for me.

The tonnes of water trick face mentioned is also gold. Say goodbye to doing yellow wee wee. Say hello to walking to the toilet every 20-30 minutes.

Eating lots of fruit also as opposed juice etc. I use 'eat to compete' as my guiding bible when it comes to nutrition in general and cutting in a nutritional sense, Highly reccomend that book.

It really doesn't.

I don't like linking to blogs but this guy has quoted the summaries from several papers so he gets a slide.

Leading up to a fight I'll be eating 5 meals a day (I normally do anyway) and low carb. I also drink a lot of green tea, probably one with each meal.

The week of weighs I'll drink 9L of water Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and increased sodium intake. Thursday is 4.5L of water, no sodium and no water after about 4pm. Morning of the weigh ins I'll have a stick of celery for breakfast and that's my only intake for the day. Maybe an emergency sauna too.

Doing that has me getting up from my desk to piss at least 20 times in the period of time I'm at work alone.

I know fuck all about nutrition but the all seem to recommend increased number of meals a day. I'm not sure it's for metabolism, I thought it just meant you're less like to pig out on a big meal if you don't have that hunger of several hours of waiting for food. Meaning you eat less, thus lose weight. Green tea and cold water is meant to increase you metabolism though.

I heard cold water helps because your body uses energy trying to stay warm inside

Cold water from the moment you wake up as well.

If in need of a sweet fix, I'd substitute a teaspoon of honey for whatever you would normally have. Probably not for the best, but works for me.

Yeah from what I read cold water increases your metabolism because your body has to work harder to warm the water up or some shit.

I'm normally pretty weak when it comes to sugar and end up caving for a snickers bar or something.

Never paid attention to the whole no sex before a fight shit.

I heard no sex or masturbation 6 weeks leading up to a fight. Builds up the testosterone and makes you more agressive

I'm about 1.78m. I'm fighting around 77-78 now. That was a fight I took on two weeks notice so I fought at my natural weight.

Adam The Muss wrote:Shit! That's a decent cut.

What are the weight cutting techniques you guys are using?

hour or so in the sauna, skipping in there if poss. sweatsuit jogging.

on the soliman fight thing when i had to cut extra i had the choice of going to a gay sauna or jogging. went for a run and had two noob canucks that wanted to start fighting tag along asking me questions the whole way. would've prefered to sit in a sauna and watch dudes fucking in hindsight.
