He got a 4 fight contract with UFC at Light Heavy Weight, be interesting to see how he goes there. Really keen to see his ground skills.

lots of tired cuddles. The TKO wasn't that convincing but with his takedowns he prob would have won 2 of the rounds anyway.

I was def surprised Velasquez was able to knock out Nog so quickly. The Stevenson Sotiropoulos fight was wicked to watch.
I would like to see Jardine released, I don't like him at all, even though it's always satisfying to see him get knocked out. I think I've enjoyed it ever since Houstan Alexander destroyed him.
Does anyone else reckon Stephan Bonnar should be dropped? I'm aware Dana White has said he'll never release him, but I just reckon he's so average he doesn't deserve to be in the UFC anymore just because of one fight 5 years ago.
I read he took the fight because he was offered a 4 fight contract if he won.

Find it hard to believe perosh would be offered a contract after that. He had NOTHING up top and his takedown attempts were predictable. Poor guy just kept running backwards

I dont think much Croat's could throw a punch at the Tigre 100% mentally.
+ Cro Cop's 3-2 probes were hurting Perosh so bad, cut him so successfully.

Jardine vs Perosh next?

Cheers guys.
I train mainly in kickboxing with a bit of BJJ.
The dude I fought was a wrestler and wanted nothing to do with my stand up so we did a lot of cuddling on the ground.

Cheers. Did you happen to check out Hayden's knock out too? It's been officially recorded as 15 seconds, fuckin beauty!
Yeah he really wanted nothing to do with my stand up. He turned away from every punch and winced with each kick. He killed me on the ground though.
I have tickets to Pride of the Shore, at the AUT Akoranga campus, on April 10th if anyone wants them. Tickets are $30 each. I'm fighting that card too.

Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
I really enjoy it. I've got a mate who was training at Ground Control, saw us fight on Saturday then came to training on Tuesday and is coming back on Thursday.
Our main trainer was a South African kickboxing champ, 4th dan black belt and has over 40 professional fights with only 6 losses I think. Second trainer is a 3rd dan black belt and takes killer fitness classes. On a Tuesday Steve Oliver comes in and takes us for half an hour. Steve is a Rickson Gracie black belt and 2007 world submission champ.
Steve also takes his own BJJ classes seperate from the MMA classes.

Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
Very interesting - UFC has signed 41 year old James Toney to a multifight contract.
Doubt he'll do well unless they give him a bunch of nobodies - kicks, knees and takedowns will ruin him.

Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
That's a bit WTF. No previous mma experience.
Perhaps Dana White is keen to shut up all those boxing die hards who go on about Boxing being the supreme fight sport.
Agree with Face here and reckon he will get destroyed by anyone with real skill.
Might be a good match up for Kimbo Slice though.

Random discussion:
Which one of these UFC Champions is most likely to lose their belt first?

My money is on Machida losing it to Shogun in their May Rematch.
GSP defends March 27 and see him walking through Hardy.
Penn and Silva defend in April and I see both of them winning.
Brock sometime in the next 3 months after #1 contender confirmed after Carwin/Mir..

I back Hardy, I'd love to see him beat GSP but doubt he is ready to face him... I was expecting him to go through Koscheck (at least) first.. will be a good fight to watch hardy likes to bang!
Machida for sure, Shogun won the belt in that last fight.
Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
For sure, I thought the Machida/Shogun decision was some bullshit.
Machida was out of training with a hand injury that required surgery after the last fight, whereas from all accounts, Shogun's been training like a berzerker ever since

Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
i don't think dan hardy has a hope in hell... but i guess stranger things have happened.
and... lesnar is going to lose his title to mir... carwin is going to get killed.

sweet pecs

Re: MMA THREAD (UFC/WEC/STRIKEFORCE/DREAM ETC ETC)
I reckon it will be interesting to see who they match Toney up with. If they go with a guy with a solid ground game or even someone with decent kicks and knees then Dana wants to prove MMA fighters are superior than boxers. If they go with someone like Kimbo then they want to capitalise on what little name they believe Toney has.
I like Hardy but he's fucked... It wouldn't be the first time GSP had lost to a heavy underdog if he did though. Keen for Hardy vs Koscheck after GSP schools him.
Shogun > Machida.
