This.

Maldonado's last fight against Kyle Kingsbury was awesome, and although he lost that if it was five rounds he would have battered kingsbury to death in the later rounds. Was a top ten fight of last year for anyone that seen it. probalby one of hte few fights i watched more than twice.

He got straight robbed against Pokrajiac. Smoked him on the feet, igor was countering good but no where near the volume and power. I think the judge's gave him him the win based on one flashy jumping knee which didn't even land anywhere near flush.

was a good event, stayed home for D3, ended up watching this instead.

muurr is going to smokkkeeddddd. rewatch against him against big nog and you'll see he doesn't have anything to offer JDS.

Great card! I hope Silva shuts Sonnen the fuck up, but if he doesn't it would be good to have a new belt holder there. I want Cung Le to win over Cote but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have the power to knock him out and that big right of Cotes is dangerous as, Cung is an old man now his best years are behind him but god damn his kicking arsenal is impressive.
Pretty much calling it exactly the same as you Face!

Athletes getting seriously injured isnt cool, but id like to see anderson silva absolutely beat the shit out of sonnen. really hurt him so he fucks off and never comes back. This card is gunna get massive PPV numbers. Im picking silva. Sonnens win over bisping wasnt convincing enough.

I certainly would like to see Forest take out Tito, but at the same time id feel bad for Tito to not go out on a win.
And Cheese is totally bang on about Sonnens win over Bisping, not convincing at all. In fact if they were to have a rematch id bet on Bisping.

If the ufc was consistant with top contender fights, bisping sonnen should have been 5 rounds but because it wasnt a main event it didnt get the nod

Looked in fine form, that first round was brutal. He didnt get much of a chance to show his skills in his last fight as it was over so quickly but yep hes improving and me thinks he'll be getting some big name opponents soon. joey is a good scalp even if he is a ufc reject.

Beltran was a gimme for Te Huna, the big questions are around his ground game and he got throughly exposed by Gustaffson last time. Against Phil Davis, or anyone with that sort of wrestling background he'd definitely have to tailor his kickboxing and that would make it tough for him to get a W. No dis to beltran he's freakin awesome and tough as nails but Te Huna's just a lot younger and on the rise and it was a great style match.

talk about curse of the rib injuries for silva v sonnen, three fights ending on chest shots.

--The Association of Boxing Commissioners is having its annual meetings currently in Clearwater, FL. The biggest thing: they have had meetings to agree on minor changes in the judging criteria of MMA fights.

Here were the following changes:

1) Effective defense has been removed as a criteria. Only offensive moves are to be used in scoring fights. This should end any debate or talks when people ask if defending a takedown should be scored as a positive, or blocking a submission, or avoiding strikes. The new ruling is that effective defense only helps you in that it keeps you alive to do offense, but only offensive moves are the ones to be scored.

2) Striking and grappling are of equal weight. Before, the old criteria listed striking first and grappling second. Now they are equal with the idea that they are weighed based on how much of the fight is standing and on the ground.

3) The term 'damage' as a criteria has been replaced by the term effective damage.

4) Heavier strikes with impact should get more weight that just the number of strikes landed, most notably strikes that cause an opponent to obviously react, stagger, cut or bruiser, be in pain, as well as cumulative impact of strikes.

5) Grappling moves scored are takedowns, reversals and submissions, passing to dominant positions, use of active and threatening moves from the bottom, close submissions can't more than just attempted submissions and submissions that lead to people being tired are also weighed significantly.

6) Effective aggression is moving forward scoring with legal techniques, as well as attacking with strikes or submissions on the ground from either the top or bottom position.

7) Cage and ring control is dictating the pace, place and position

8) The current scoring system (ten point must) remains in place

So Machida and Shogun both won there bouts the other day. So Lyoto has a second shot at Jones, I still think he's come the closest to rattling Jones , fingers crossed he can avenge that last submission loss. Fuck I want Jones to lose soooooooooo bad.
