Lesnar will be teaching MMA vets no doubt, I agree in that he can pay to bring in top trainers plus he is a fantastic wrestler, his chair work & ladder matches being a specialty.

Just because Lesnar hasn't had as many fights doesn't mean he wont be a good coach. Hes fuckin quick for a man his size and he wasn't born that way so he must have something he can share?

Nah, allways had welterweight in UFC,

I welterweight is just really popular, it's not too small...not too big. So power & speed etc.
Welterweight can be anywhere from 71-77 (UFC) or can go to 83 like in pride, or 81 in grappling.

Yeah Steve, it's the featherweights and bantamweights they've just introduced.

I was kinda expecting this season to be one of these smaller weight classes (135lb and 145lb), to start increasing their exposure. But again, another UFC decision made for $$$ rather than the good of the sport.

I reckon it's unlikely you'd get guys of the same weight category coaching each other because you risk dudes not willing to fight each other because they've trained together before.

In my opinion heavyweights are typically shit to watch and there's not enough decent ones around to fill up the division much more than that. Welterweight is a far more exciting division because the action is faster paced and is a more talent rich divsion. TUF 10 was terrible to watch and I probably wouldn't bother watching another season of heavyweights. There's nothing worse than watching two fat cunts gas in the first round.

Yeah spot on Adam - I would not be keen to watch another TUF heavyweight series - dudes in TUF 10 were rubbish and gassed hard. Horrible to watch.

Also, Coker has come out and said that Overeem's belt is NOT ON THE LINE in the SF HW tournament. Fucking lame, another year of the belt not being defended.

The winner of the tournament (if it's not reem himself) will then fight him for the belt. If Overeem wins the tournament, who the fuck is he going to fight? Himself? Or some dude who is coming off a loss from the tournament. Strikeforce Logic infuriates me sometimes!!

Werdum (for some stupid reason) was keen for a rematch with Fedor. He didn't want a bar of Overeem, even though by all logic he was #1 contender.

It seemed that in 2010 everyone was ducking Overeem. Can't say I blame them. Fedor or Overeem will win this tournament.

Rogers was "owed" a title shot after beating Arlovski.
Strikeforce is a mess, the divisions are weak as fuck, so it makes sense to try get the biggest "name" a title shot for revenue/marketing etc etc. I mean Diaz vs Cyborg? apart from Diaz fans i doubt anyone cares for that fight at all. I actually cringe watching Strikeforce events, but i do think this heavyweight tourney could be awesome.

The Athletic Commission won't sanction multiple five round fights, that's why the title isn't being defended during the tournament.

I read somewhere (bloody elbow I think) that the comissions would've been willing to make them all 5 rounds. I reckon it should at least be on the line in the final if Overeem were to make it that far.

I know, Not sure why the huge price difference. Surely they could just stick them on fox/skysports and overload them with advertising. Or at $10 an event surely they would get a huge amount of subscribers, including myself.

They have to be consistent with competitors(local) in Aus because of the corporations act. It enforces a minimum price in the market, which in turn controls the governments return. Good for budgeting, totally shitty for the consumer. NZ has something similar but our enforced "minimums" are far lower (except with video games, where we get raped, ruthlessly).

Jacare looked great too. Another pretty solid effort from Strikeforce.

126 this weekend and first SF HW tournament fight the weekend after that (fedor v silva). 2011 is mean.

Jones v Bader - What a freaking hard fight to call, could easily go either way. I'm going to go with Jones, purely out of personal preference. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Bader takes it though. Either way, this fight launches the winner into LHW top 5 competition for sure.

126 is the strongest UFC card in a while IMO.
