A mate started sending us videos from Japan of pride in 99 and I didnt see a UFC match till 01.
Im an idiot.

Had a friend convince me to come along to a BJJ class next week, I always put off starting because I thought it was something you needed to pick up when you are younger (although I am only 18)
It's at Kobukan School of Martial arts in Hamilton, has anyone trained there?

Haha yeah I thought that might sound a little strange.
I'd like to try something that was more striking orientated at some stage as well, I'll have to see what other classes this place takes.

Find a good boxing coach and get your technique sharp.

We've got a couple of 15 year olds who train with us.. they're gonna be beasts in a couple of years if they stick with it. Wish I would've got into shit younger but I thought martial arts were gay.

Rio's only 18 and he has already has an undefeated record of 5 fights with 2 knockouts......I've been training almost as long, and I'm struggling to get my first fight at 25, getting a little sick of their being no girls my weight (also wouldn't mind being younger) :(

Havnt heard of many places for grappling in Hams, but there is a very decent dojo called Metro that has some top level international players fighting out of there when not overseas.

18 isnt young to get into a grappling art, but by no means is it too old or anything. Lots of guys pick up training Bjj/judo/whatever in their 30's/40's even 50's but then again it all depends on your personal ambitions. I started at 15 and I'm 20 now, sometimes I feel I got into this too late as there are guys my age that have allready done Worlds,Grand-Slams,Olympics etc but it just means you have to play catch up, the plus is that they will burn out before you...hopefully.

On the money!

I'm really interested to see if Duffee lives up to the hype, kinda ridiculous how hyped up he is when most people have only seen him fight for 7 seconds.

Yep, his fight analysis is spot on. Sounds like this guy really does his homework for fights. Hes also got that massive tank "you cant knock me out" chin/face.

Rampage by way of

But I reckon if it ends up going to decision then Rashad by nipple tweak.

That was funny as. Had pretty much given up on the fight and wasn't watching when it happened. Then look back and Duffy is asleep.

He is a professional fighter, he should probably be in shape. I'm sure I'm not the only one who found it funny.

Melvin Guillard should have got knock out of the night imo. That knee was mean as.

true, but only a few seconds in and he came close. Thought he'd be too fast, just always looks so difficult to get hold of. Rampage too slow and tired after carrying his big industrial chain into the venue, whatta clown.
Nogueira winning his fight was a bit of a shit decision I reckon. Controlled the last round against a tired Brilz but easily lost the first 2.

For sure, I won't make any excuses for Rampage - he was slow and tentative and Rashad outclassed him. Lot of people hating on Rashad for his style of victory, but my hat goes off to him, he was quick as hell, aggressive from the first Bell and dominated.

Was a frustrating fight to watch as a Rampage fan - especially when he had the chance to finish him in the 3rd but failed.

The tension leading up to that fight was amazing, I actually got shivers haha.

You can only think that Rampage must have been completely exhausted after Rashad escaped and was still a bit rocked. Rampage only just missed with a couple of shots when Rashad was going down, if one connected Rampage would have got the TKO....At least he made no excuses and gave Rashad some praise at the end.
At the start i reckon Rampage was focused on how he was going to kill Rashad rather than having an MMA fight.

Evans Vs Shogun aye? Might not be so safe in the clinch with Shogun.

Sucks to see Noke beaten in the ultimate fighter. His takedown defense was pretty good but couldn't keep it up. Again, too many points for takedowns when a fighter can't do shit from a dominant position.
Keen to see Yagers fight this week :D

That's my main consolation to come out of this fight - now Shogun gets to ruin Rashad's life... If that one doesn't work out I'll go into a depression

Nice 1 Evans. Rampage should just concentrate on hollywood.
Shogun will be another nic in Evans belt
